Great Investment! BUY IT!!!
I bought this generator running cover for my Westinghouse iGen 5000DFc in hopes of prolonging it’s life. I only use the generator to run a couple of essential circuits during outages, but those always come with bad weather, so again, I want to protect my investment. So, the putting together of this tent is pretty straight forward, but also has a couple of trip hazards. The key is to carefully read the instructions. Something that most of us hate to do. IT WILL PROBABLY TAKE AN EXTRA PAIR OF HANDS WHEN MOUNTING THE STRAP that wraps around the generator. While I did not have any problems with the installation, I did want to verify it with GenTent support. They quickly returned my email, verified my install, and offered to respond to any further questions. While the cover does seem a little pricey, it is of high quality, and offers a lot of functionality. A well thought out product overall. It fits well, offers great protection, and durability.

Good product, but it should have come with a bag.
Good product, seems like it will do what it says, but for the price you pay for it, you would think it would come with the storage case. Instead they want to charge you another $25 for one.

Great Design, Easy Install, Overpriced
I have this installed on a Honda EU7000iS. The installation was easy as long as you carefully read all the instructions first. The strap stays on the generator full time unless you need to open the cabinet. Then its a simple release of the ratchet strap. Assuming you leave the strap on the generator full time, installing the mounting points, rods and the canopy is about a 3 minute job, which is nice when the time comes to use this out in the weather. I let this sit outside on a windy day with 40mph gusts and it didn't move. I was easily able to position it so it protected the generator from above while allowing for exhaust and ventilation. So from a standpoint of functionality, it's a great buy....however...I knocked off 2 stars for 2 reasons...1) Price. For what this is, it's extremely overpriced. Considering this is a ratchet strap, a piece of heavy duty vinyl, and a bunch of molded plastic, It should come in at under $100.2) For the price I paid (roughly $180 for the "Extreme" version), the seller should at least have included the optional storage bag and a clear control panel window (note to consumers - the clear panel pictured in the photos is not what you get in the box. you get an opaque panel). I see those two items listed as "optional accessories" on their website and would cost an additional $40 via their website, but at $180 for just the cover, this is nickel & diming the consumer.

Must have for inverter generator!
Got to test this out DURING Milton last year as it rolled directly over us. Withstood the rain AND wind! Allowed us to keep the genny running throughout the storm! Great fit! Relatively easy to install and rugged! Stayed in place even in 110 mph + winds. Definitely did not expect it to stay on! Lol. Great product!

Great Product - you can make it easier to assemble.
The GentTent is a well-made product, and my version is for an enclosed inverter generator. (Westinghouse iGen4500DF dual fuel only ever run on propane). I spent some time 'practicing' with it and trying things out. Her's what's I found missing in the manual. On my generator the grommets at the front and back are different heights. The front to back and side to side measurements are different. You also need a tape measure to set the arms up.However, if you take one of the frame rods and some tape or a marker you can mark the rod and use it as a yardstick. Mine is marked at 6 1/2" ground to grommet for the front, 7 1/2" ground to grommet at the back, 24" for the side to side (23 to 25") and 35" for the front to back (34-36). So, I can assemble the frame without finding a tape measure. Also to help, I put some tape on the corners of the generator at the top of the grommets. If you are inclined and are sure of the locations, you can use marker instead.I've not yet tested this in the rain.I also laminated (waterproof!!!) a copy of the manual page 12 (layout sizes) and a diagram of the front panel of my generator as it is hidden when the GenTent is deployed. However, on my generator most controls are easily accessible by lifting the top flap/cover and peering down without opening the skirt.I'recommend the GenTent for anyone with a generator they need to run in the rain.PS their customer service is excellent too. They messaged to ensure I had the correct version and offered assistance in the setting up.SteveD
