This HD saved me. Great Product
My Mac Book Pro had a hard Drive crash. I found this on Amazon for $70.00. It is one TB and my previous HD was 512 GB. Took me only 10 Minutes to install. The only problem that I had was that I had to do several restarts to get the computer to see the new hard drive. Once it finally saw the new hard drive the rest was easy all I had to do was do a restore from my back up. Computer is running great now no problems.

Dificult to install
In the description, it says that this ssd comes ready for install in a macbook pro. I installed it, and the mac didn't recognize it, I couldn't install it. It seems that I have to format it, but in order to do it, i have to do other things, like make an bootable disk and to do this, I have to use a usb memory stick and erase it and copy the info in another media or buy a new one. In the past, I have installed ssd disks in Macbook pro, and the proccess was very easy. If you are not a savvy person in this kind of procedures, I don't recomend buying this product.

Backup DAILY to be on the safe side.
The ssd is fast and works perfect. The computer recognized the ssd and booted fast the first time it was installed. The purchased was July 26 2022 and it died on me on February 15 2023. During 6 months the ssd worked as normal. Then suddenly I got a black screen and a folder with a question mark flashing at the middle of the screen. The ssd had fail to boot. Disk Utility can't see the ssd. I tried the ssd on another computer and also it doesn't show up. The ssd is dead. I recommend you do a daily backup when using this ssd.

$70 for a 1TB Mac SSD! What a great deal!!
A Mac SSD that is way fast, and way compatible. This drive is great!! I don't know why the description says you can't do this, and you must do that. BS!! I installed this 1TB Mac SSD in my early 2014 MacBook Air. I installed Big Sur on it, then Windows 11 Pro with BootCamp. *Windows 11 requires 2 registry edits to install it on this older computer because of their stupid hardware requirements.* Oustside of the 2 registry edits, all installations were from scratch and did not require any other special tweaks. This is a great product, and I will be buying more for my other old Macs. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants more drive space in their Macs. I am confident, IF your Mac has the same physical connection, it will work. The connection is the only thing unique to this drive. A drive, is a drive, is a drive. Physically the connection may be different, but drives are just storage and all work the same. If you are unsure, shoot me your question. I can point you in the right direction to do what I have described above.

The SSD itself works like a charm, but you should know just how many hoops Apple make you jump through to set it up. - First, when starting it recovery mode, it wanted to connect to my wi-fi, and there was no other options available. After that, there was a progress bar for 15 minutes without a hint as to what it was doing (I did not select an internet recovery) - Only after that was I able to select "restore from Time Machine backup" - It now said it couldn't restore from Time Machine because of "problems", I had to reinstall the OS anew. No hint as to why or what I might do about it. - After that I rebooted and the computer, which immediately started "internet recovery" for 15 minutes again, without any option to skip. After that, I was met by *a different* recovery tool. This one was truly ancient, apparently based on Mavericks. And obviously it couldn't do anything. - I had to click through the ususal bs again, accepting terms and conditions, yet again repeating that I wanted to do a time machine backup, and only now did it turn out it didn't recognize my drive. - I tried disk tool several times, rebooting in between, and waiting for the idiotic "internet" thing each time, but disk tool wouldn't find the drive. - I then gave up approach this altogether and decided to try a bootable USB stick again, only because I have done this in the past. Finding information on it online is hard. - This is where it got truly ridiculous. Turns out you have to find a magical link to App Store - simply searching for "Big Sur" won't find anything. And you have to do this on the *same computer*, and download it to *the internal drive only*. And even then the Mac gets confused because it doesn't understand that you want to download the OS image, not install it. So you have to find the point where the OS image is downloaded, but before the mac starts trying to install it. So obviously, I had to insert the old SSD again, painstakingly free up 16 GB - the reason I change the SSD is because it's full, duh - and wait for hours to download Mac OS. Then I had to paste a magic command in the terminal to create the bootable USB stick. This again took about an hour. - Installing the OS was also laughable. You see a progress bar which goes about half-way, reboot, and then the same progress bar again. This repeated about five times. - Only after all of this did it offer to restore from Time Machine again. Which also took ages, and had to be run overnight. All in all, expect the procedure to take several hours of manual work, and 2-3 overnighters before you're fully set up.

The SSD came well packaged and as described. Installing was straightforward and easy. The Linux install process spotted the SDD and installed it with no issues and would repurchase this item from this seller again
