great replacement for florescent lights

Three two bulb florescent recessed fixtures in my kitchen. When the middle light quit due to ballast failure, I replaced the guts with the LED swap out. It took me a while, I'm 74 and don't move as fast as I used to but it was not difficult at all. Boy, what an improvement. It was about the same price as replacing the ballast and bulbs with brighter light and longer life. I will be getting several more of these kits in the future to have on hand for the next failure. UPDATE; I am now 75 and I just had cataract surgery. I am now wearingsunglasses in the kitchen.UPDATE (Feb 24) I just finished installing two more sets of lights in the laundry room. This is the last room in the house that has 4 ft. lights. Again, easy to install, and bright light with instant on. I won't be buying any more of these for this house since there is no more lights to change. I expect many more years of service from these.

The transformer is a peel and stick, after a month it got hot and fell down , you need to wire it up or zip tie it. Other than that it’s a great product

Can’t believe how easy this was to install. Just dealing with two wires, like any other light fixture. I just left all the extra wires and the old ballast in the old housing, didn’t have to do anything but cut and reconnect the two main wires. These things just magnetically stick to your existing old fluorescent fixture housing and the little box that connects to them sticks anywhere in your fixture with the included double stick tape (I taped mine right to the old ballast. Daylight (5000) is bright and perfect for my basement. I used 1 set (2 led strips) to replace 4 old fluorescent bulbs, which is perfect. No flicker, instant on. Can’t speak to how long they will last, but so far so good!

I replaced the fluorescent tubes in at least 2 dozen light fixtures with these retrofit kits. I am so done with fluorescent light problems. What a fantastic invention these kits are. They are relatively easy to install. I usually take about 45 minutes because I work slowly, carefully and methodically to be sure I get it right the first time. Plus I clean the metal fixtures and diffusers with window cleaner. I have bags of the wire nuts left over. I threw away many pounds of ballasts that I never have to replace. I really like these LED retrofit kits. So far I replaced all the fluorescents in a barbershop, a hairdresser shop, and a counselor's office. Everyone is pleased with the brightness of the 5000K kits.

Easy to install. A nice, economical improvement.

Brightness seems perfectly adequate, very simple installation. I had more trouble with mistakes the last person had made (putting grounds wrong, etc.) than I did putting these in.In my opinion, you will want a few basic tools to make the job easier (wire cutters, a good wire stripper to take a little bit more of the rubber off the wire, a power tester if you want to check 120volts on the incoming wire, stuff like that).These lights are working well. I'll update if anything changes.
