Showed up cracked and still works great
This is a kit where everything in it is high quality. The heating mat doesn't come with a thermostat and the lighting height is fixed to the top of the dome, *however* unless you're growing seeds in an extremely narrow temperature range, this works quite well. The base is sturdy, and while the lid for one of the two I ordered arrived cracked, it had no difficulty keeping humidity in. If anything, they keep *too* much humidity in the dome for some seeds (and I would definitely recommend against using peat pots or wooden labels, as mine molded almost immediately), but you can always prop the dome up slightly to let more moisture out if needed. These are expensive, but getting a good grow light on Amazon can be extremely tricky, and I was very pleased with these (and the mats). Aside from anything I planted in peat pots, everything has showed signs of sprouting and is doing well.

works as advertised
Results may vary depending on gardening skills but the item delivered on schedule and works. I'll put the light on hangars in a tent and raise it without the dome as seedlings mature but the dome is essential for germination. I just used potting soil and a stray seed to test it and it worked great.

4.5 Star Review
If I could give this 4.5 stars, I would. So far, I have loved this sprouter but there are a few things that could be improved on. I used this to get a jumpstart on my vegetable garden and grow some seedlings. It’s extremely easy to set up. The set up time is virtually zero. You lay the heat mat on a flat surface and plug it in. You add the tray and then add your own plug seed trays, dirt, and seeds (not included). Then you will add the clear lid which as other reviewers have said is medium thickness. It’s thicker than a bakery container you might get at your grocery store but it’s less thick than a hamster ball. It felt a little flimsy but at the same time I didn’t need it to be any thicker for practical purposes because it kept my plants at the right temperature. Lastly I unboxed the light, removed the protective film, and placed it on top of the lid. You don’t actually attach the light to the lid, which did make me a little nervous because I am a little clumsy plus we’ve got a dog but so far so good. In total, the setup took under 5 minutes.Within the first 24 hours of setup, I actually had one broccoli seed sprout. Another 24 hours later and I had about 5-8 more sprout. It’s kept the temperature very even. It even has 2 vents on the lid if you want to open and reduce the humidity and temperature. In a lot of reviews I read, I heard about people having trouble with it leaking. This didn’t really make sense to me until the second day when I noticed that the condensation from the lid would slide down the sides and collect right where the lid and base tray meet. As the lid doesn’t snap into the base to create a seal, the condensation leaks onto my table and of course the heat pad. And I’m really not overwatering which I assumed all those reviews were talking about. Luckily it’s in my office where I work and can monitor it everyday, and I’m only using it for 8 weeks now and another 6-8 in the fall. I can wipe up the water before it becomes a problem. If it wasn’t for this one issue, I would give it a 5. I feel like they should easily be able to engineer this issue out of existence. As I’m only a hobby gardener and not a serious one at that, it works for me. But I could see someone with a busy life or kids saying it would be too much work to wipe up the water everyday. Most everything you need is included. The only things not included are your seed pods, dirt, seeds, and fertilizer (if needed). I bought the Lovatic peat pots for seedlings. Five peat pot trays fit the sprouter tray perfectly and allows me to grow 50 seedlings. Each Lovatic tray is 10 x 4 inches. The photos show the setup with my Lovatic pots and plants added. The last photo shows one of the vents.

Just Happily Bought My Third Super Sprouter!
I bought two Super Sprouters two years ago and they both still work well. I just bought a third to add to the daisy chain. The small enclosed environment of the Super Sprouter is perfect for me to propogate tomato seeds in my unheated February/March basement in the chilly 6a growing zone.I like that the tray that comes with the Super Sprouter kit is a standard 10 x 20 seed starting tray, which means the dome will fit on top of any other standard-sized tray. The light fits in a groove running across the length of the dome in the middle, so some of the seedlings on the outer edges of the tray may tend to bend inwards toward the light. Since I use separate peat pots on the tray, I can always rotate the seedlings around a little, if this starts to happen. One thing to watch out for is the Super Sprouter heat mat, which slowly heats at first, but can get very warm! It the mat gets too hot, you can diffuse the heat by placing the tray on a couple of pencils lifting the tray about 3/8 inches off the mat.

Take the blue reflector film off the light's reflector!
This arrived in perfect condition. The only issue I had was getting the light to work which was quite a struggle as I took the reflector film off and it was difficult getting the reflector itself back on the light fixture. You don't need to take the reflector totally out of the light fixture to remove the film as I did. Lord knows when it will ever stop raining here but at least I have my garden started for this year thanks to the Super Sprouter Premium Heated Propagation Kit. We'll see if any seeds come up!A couple months later - well, the seeds did come up, most within a week. The only difficulty I had with this is that the top fits over the bottom and the water which condescends on the clear plastic top drips over the tray and onto the counter it is sitting on. If it was redesigned where the top fits inside the tray it would work much better. Anyway, my orchids like it too and it's become sort of a hospital for sick orchids. I keep it on a towel to absorb all the water. Good purchase. Just needs a bit of redesigning.

CORN SPROUTED IN 5 HOURS!!
so i just received this seed starter today, and planted some various vegetables in it, one of which was corni planted it at 230 today, it is now 730 and most of the corn has already sprouted!im not sure why people are saying the plastic on this is thin, because its not, its definately not super heavy duty, but its strong enough for indoor use, id say the plastic this is made of is 3-4 times thicker than the plastic you would see in one of those jiffy seed starters, if you are familiar with those

This is one heat mat.
Despite the photo showing two heat mats and the product details mentioning 2 pieces, this is one mat.
