Don't Fear The Soy
I've tried various protein powders over the years and have recently been comparing and contrastingseveral very different types including: Naked Seed (from the people who make Naked Whey and Naked Rice), Sprouted Brown Rice Protein, High-Fiber Hemp Protein, Fermented Pea Protein, and Grass-Fed Whey Protein Concentrate.I began to question my prior pick, Sprouted Brown Rice Protein, due to the bitter flavors in the powder. As far as I'm aware this is a leftover concentration from the fermentation process which is actually healthful, but it was a bit oft-putting and I thought maybe I had a mild reaction. It could be psychological and from the flavor, however.Of all the proteins, this Soy protein is by far the most neutral. It is VERY clean and pure to all my senses. This makes sense since it is an isolate and the others are not, but it's purity and neutrality leave me with a very good impression.Upon sampling a hefty serving I have noticed no gastro-intestinal issues in comparison to some of the others.I feel as if it is a healthful pure and clean protein of the highest standards and anyone who is wary of soy should give it a try. Just because a lot of over-processed soy junkfoods give the crop a bad name, good products like this exist that people should not shy away from.

Good product
I recently started tracking my diet on Fitbit, and surprised to find I was low on protein. Not a vegan or vegetarian, just don't eat much meat. Thought I ate enough other protein rich foods. So looked for a non-flavored protein powder to add to my daily oatmeal. I already add Bob's flaxmeal to the oatmeal, so decided to try Bob's protein. It has no taste, it doesn't affect the consistency of the cereal, and adds 5g of protein to my diet every day. Have I noticed any improvement in my health? No, not really. I didn't have many complaints before. But I'll assume it has long term benefits, so I'll keep doing it. One negative: it does tend to clump up. But I also add fruit to the oatmeal while it's cooking, and I've found that stirring it with the fruit will break up the clumps.I went with Soy protein rather than whey products because sometimes when I eat ice cream I get a stomachache. I don't drink much dairy milk. I already eat tofu and soymilk, so decided on the soy powder.

Bob's is the best
Bob's is the best. It always has been. They don't add anything to this soy powder, which is getting harder and harder to find in the stores. All the others add fake sugar, flavoring, or seeds of some sort. (Yes, Bob's adds chia seeds to some of the other flavors ... which is disgusting and a total turnoff because they puff up in the glass and gag me!) If they made this soy powder, exactly like it is, but with added chocolate flavor --- with no trace of fake sugar (including "stevia") and zero stupid seeds --- just chocolate flavor with regular sugar .... then that would be heaven. In the meantime, I just mix this in with my Ovaltine and it works great. It took a while to figure out the best way to mix it so it doesn't lump up, but it works now. (Thoroughly mix the dry powders together before adding almond milk.)Thanks, Bob's Red Mill!

Definitely an acquired taste.
I haven't used this for baking, so I can only speak towards mixing/blending.I tried this plain, i.e. straight from the bag and straight from the bag mixed in a glass of water. I would say it has more than a little flavor and what flavor it has isn't necessarily pleasant, it's sort of nutty? But not in a good way. It does dissolve very easily in water or milk, so that is a plus. However, I don't think I'd ever want to drink this plain (not that you should, just stating my thoughts). The best ways I've found to use this so far include either as part of a shake with milk and fruit or added in addition to an OTS protein powder--something with sugar and/or a sweetener included. I purchased this because I wanted to try and make my own protein powder mixes with cocoa powder and other ingredients. If I ever find something revolutionary, I'll update this review. In the meantime, I think this powder is good quality, but lacking flavor so I give it 4 stars and an A.

Tried it for a year
I love this most in spaghetti. Just mix 2tbsp into your 1cup of red sauce before adding the noodles, and then you have a balanced meal that still tastes good. I love this product because it doesn't have any additives at all. 10g of protein for less than $1 to add to all your saucy pastas... that's a vegan win!

Bob's Red Mill is the way to go!
This is my favorite soy powder. It blends well with what I'm making, mixing in with no bad flavor. Cam right away and in good condition. In fact I had ordered two with this order.

Good Value and Macros For Not-So Good Taste
Bob’s Red Mill Soy Protein Powder is a plant-based protein powder containing only one ingredient: soy protein isolate. It has a whooping 16g protein per serving (1/4 cup), which sounds fantastic at first, until you try mixing it into something and tasting it. This product should have a somewhat neutral taste, but it’s blandness really stands out even after it had been mixed into something. It overpowers any protein shakes and oatmeal you try to eat, and that bland taste is even to want to make you stop consuming whatever you’ve made entirely. I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t always completely mix into my food, and can occasionally find more than a few clumps of protein powder still remaining. If you can get over the incredibly strong taste of blandness (or have something sweet to combat it), I think this is a good product. I think it’s worth trying, at least, but thats totally your own discretion as I’ve have mixed reactions with this protein powder.
