Q: Is the raspberry more of a burgundy or a red?

In my opinion the color is closer to burgundy than to red. The color as shown on Amazon is accurate (assuming your computer display or phone display is accurate, as well).

Q: How long are the two short straps / handles? (not the cross body adjustable)

the short straps go comfortably over my shoulder. they are 9 inches from the bag to the top of the straps. hope that helps

Q: Could you fit a MacBook Air in this bag?

Yes. Mine fits just fine. However, there is no padding on the bag so you might want to protect your MacBook with clothing or a sleeve.
