Forum Novelties Men's Steampunk Victorian Bag Of Gears Costume Accessory

My son wanted these gears for his costume. They are made of metal and vary in color. Some are silver, some brass, and another steampunk color I can't identify. The gears vary in size also. Some are smaller than a dime and some are as big as a silver dollar. There seemed to be at least two of each kind of gear, so that is good for symmetrical designs.They look nice. I doubt that you could actually use them to build a functional something, but they are great for costuming, which was the intent.

I ordered this as a last minute thing as my husband was going to a steampunk event and I needed to make him some goggles fast. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but when I received (and it came FAST) I was amazed to find they were metal, not plastic! I was expecting plastic!The smaller, thinner ones are a little more fragile, they appear to be metal though. They are obviously aluminum, which is fine, they seemed nicely sturdy for what I wanted them to do, looked good, and not too heavy that they weighed too much to work with.He got compliments on his goggles even though I hadn't finished them (just enough to shoo him out the door and tell him "Hold them exactly like that for an hour... no, not by the strap!") and though I have steered away from making steampunk things for my accessories shop, I might just start as long as I can continue to get these!

I got them before the due date which is awesome when the due date is only two days. (they came in one!?) it is exactly as the picture shows. a small bag of gears. I have not figured out exactly how to use them but I look forward to playing with them to create the steam-punk look that I am going for. They clink and jingle just as if they are really metal. I have not opened the bag to tell if they are plastic or not but they sure look, seem to feel and sound like metal which is perfect for what I need. They are not super big but I wanted something smaller, some are button sizes but there is at least one or two that are silver dollar size perhaps a tiny bigger? Either way they are exactly what I wanted so I am very happy with my purchase.

Just as expected, and perfect for the reason I purchased them. Really nice variety of size, from silver dollar sized down to teeny, tiny, wee little gears that you'll miss if you're not paying attention. Description says 100% plastic, but some are plastic (the larger ones that would have been far heavier had they been metal) and the smaller ones are metal. Doesn't bother me at all. Nice. Thank you!

I received the bag of gears earlier than expected, which is a big plus from the seller I bought it from. Like most of the other reviews state these are METAL and not plastic as the product description states. They are of a reasonable and modest size, the biggest being about half dollar size and the smallest being about as big around as a pencil eraser. There are two of each gear which helps for symmetry if that is the intention, and I personally love the itty-bitty gears so that when I wear my steampunk outfits I can dab a little bit of eyelash adhesive to the backs of them and apply them as decor to my face and make-up. Not a bad accessory to buy at all. I will be purchasing more gears in the future as my steampunk styles evolve.

Gears. Everyone Loves Gears. How can you not? Daring spokes little wheelie things...they look so cute!Even better is that these gears come in BEAUTIFUL BRASS and GOLD! From Teeny Tiny to Pretty Big! If you can't find a project for these, you aren't trying! You need Gears! Even just to look at or play with! I wish I had these in the Rave Scene the all coveted gear so elusive like the Unicorn. You can't buy them just ANYPLACE!Each Gear in this bag is different too! From super fancy with holes, to spokes...oh GAWD I gotta play with these!

I purchased this for use in a steampunk costume. The bag contains a variety of gears of different sizes, shapes, weights, etc. I was able to easily sew these onto a top hat (which was also fitted with goggles) for my costume. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the needle through the smallest of gears, but (using a small needle) I ended up having no problems at all. These are fantastic, and I would definitely purchase again. Highly recommend!

The product was as described. Great for decorating clothing items. Good variety of gears. Just a side warning - do not use on skin for decoration as they left burns.
