I sadly would think that unless they explicitly state that they are made in England, then they are probably made in China. Welcome to the race to the bottom or the 'Walmartization' of the world.

Q: How many ounces do the mugs hold?

They would be considered 12 oz mugs. They hold 14 oz when filled to the brim.

Q: Most of the reviews mention plates breaking during shipping. How durable are they for everyday use?

I also had dishes arrive broken. However, I haven’t had a dish, plate, bowl or mug break or even chip since. Ive had them 3+ years. And, the broken shipment was quickly replaced w/o question.

Q: can anyone tell me what color of white these dishes are. Optical white, off white, creamy white, etc.

The dishes that I purchased were black. Can't help you with the white dishes.
