This suitcase lasted me 2.5 years of constant travel (~200 flights) until one of the wheels got wonky and the cracks were too big to ignore. The lock was always reliable. Very lightweight, spacious, good zippers. I treated it like crap, bouncing it down staircases and such, and it took the abuse like a champ.

The quality is subpar, on are first trip wheels broke not worth the money.

I’ve had this in the carry-on size for several years and it survived many countries, modes of transportation, cobblestone streets and still looks and rolls like new. This larger checked bag is fantastic is well. They are so durable that you can not see wear and tear on the older bag versus the new. The interior is well appointed and the built in locks are perfect. I can’t stress enough how the bag rolls so smoothly. Before purchasing this classic looking workhorse, I foolishly purchased different luggage that advertised being light weight with great wheels and secure because there’s no zipper. That luggage was so horrible compared to Travelpro that I took a major loss on returning it then bought this tried and true bag. In less than 5 months this bag has been to 3 countries and I’m so happy to have effortless luggage.

I bought the elite medium sized and paid over $300 for it. Looked beautiful when it was new. I took it on two trips in the US and the suitcase looks terrible. Every metal corner is dented, marked and separating from the hard shell. There are scratches and stained marks on the shell that won’t come off with scrubbing. I am so disappointed in the poor quality and I cannot return it at this point. Stay away from this brand in the hard shell at least. I owned a hard shell that cost less than 100 bucks and it didn’t have the metal corners but held up beautifully and still looks great so I’m just so baffled by this expensive well-rated brand being junk!!

Update: Several weeks after submitting my warranty claim, I still haven't heard back from Travelpro. I'd heard that their customer service was great, but that's the opposite of my experience. Updating to 1 star. I do not recommend this suitcase. I bought this based on the reputation of travelpro’s products and warranty. However, the zipper pull broke the first time i used the suitcase. I filed a warranty claim with travelpro a week ago, and was promised a response within 2 days. I still haven’t heard back. Outside of the zipper issue, the case feels rather cheap for the price I paid for it. There is enough play from the closure and expansion zippers that the two halves of the shell feel wobbly to eachother and flimsy even though the wheels seem high quality. The fact that it doesn’t have a handle on the bottom also makes it a little awkward to grab from the luggage belt depending on orientation or to lift into the trunk of a car. All-in-all, I regret this purchase. I’ll update my review later if travelpro responds to my warranty claim, but the fact that they still haven’t responded doesn’t inspire hope.

I had the Travelpro Crew softside luggage set (carryon, medium check-in, and what I called the coffin) from 2016 until this year when I decided to go to the hardside set for the organization and compartments. The Crew is still in great shape after 200+ flights so I was able to give it to my mother. I've now used the Platinum Elite hardside set for about 10 trips (ski trips, overseas to Asia and Europe, domestic, etc.). I'm amazed at how well it has held up. Even the medium check-in can easily hold well over 50+ lbs. and still roll like a dream over cobblestones. The rollers on the Platinum Elite are definitely a step up from the Crew but still have issues over high pile carpeting (which rolling luggage set doesn't?) in hotel hallways. I would definitely recommend this set. I've traveled 1.5M airmiles over 30 years and I've always used Travelpro. The Rimowa luggage set I was gifted years ago is still sitting in my closet.

This is the best you can do! That is all I can say. We love ours and I highly recommend paying the extra money for the quality. We travel and these cases make it through the airport is real style. I mean they are smooth, durable and reliable. Step up my friends. This is my number one recommendation. I am not getting paid for any of my reviews.

The extended handle does not function properly. It only extends to 2 stages not four. Please advise. I don't want to return it if I don't have to.

Bought this suitcase due to excellent features and reviews. First time I used it while packing for an overseas trip, the teeth of the zipper on the main compartment came apart exposing contents inside. I hastily tried to zip it open and then back up hoping the teeth would catch. Anxious the entire flight there and back the zipper would give out again and contents strewn about and lost during airline handling. Very disappointed with this product.
