a truly impressive piece of equipment
If you are purchasing this unit for surge protection for valuable electronics gear. You've made the right decision. I am an experienced electronics engineer and the approach Furman has taken is the best I've seen. Yes, it is expensive and rather bulky, but the build quality is superb and the massive inductor and support electronics simply couldn't fit in a much smaller enclosure. Frankly, I think most people will find little advantage to the linear filtering from an audio line noise perspective, especially with modern gear. That said, buy this thing if, as I have, you've spent a ridiculous amount of money on home theatre gear and don't want the next lightning strike or line-cross to cost you big bucks. I live in a rural area, and power distribution here is a bit on the fingers-crossed side, especially during thunderstorm season and I've experienced some long-term overvoltage issues from crossed lines twice. Fortunately only a clothes dryer motor and some light bulbs were fried by those events, but now that I have finished moving in and installed a ton of expensive gear, I am more comfortable having this unit's auto shutdown on overvoltage protectiion for my stupidly expensive AVR and OLED TV. This is something only a few other high end surge protectors offer. This thing wasn't cheap to build, so the price is quite reasonable. Just buy it.

Almost too good to be true
I bought this so that I could try it on my vintage Hi-Fi audio system. I had been building my system over the past couple years and it was on various bog standard surge protectors. Monster, Belkin, etc. Those were all, of course, quite fine, but I knew from past experience that cleaning up the signal can make a difference. I also wanted something with a more robust protection system. After reading about this unit, I decided to give it a shot. My friend, who has an outrageously expensive system, has used all kinds of power supplies and power conditioners over the years. While some outrageously expensive gear can make a significant difference I think that you would have to spend well above this price point to get something that you would notice. Switching from a standard surge protector to this unit. There was an immediate difference in sound quality. For those who think that audiophiles are crazy when they say that you have to realize that these systems don't actually improve your other equipment. They simply remove things that are making your equipment worse. Cheap conditioners and filters can actually have negative impacts. I was worried that might be the case as the price point was right on the cusp. It did not do that at all. All it did was allow my stuff to sound as clear and crisp as possible. I was shocked by how good it sounded. Time will tell if the surge protection portion is as good as reviewed by others. Based on my initial impressions, I would expect that it does exactly what it's supposed to

So far so good
I moved to a building built in the 1950s and was worried about the wiring. Then my surge protector died, which made me feel like my worries were correct! No issues with this surge protector so far. I was a little surprised at how large and heavy it is, but so far it's working great. I would order this again for peace of mind.

Nice Big Strip of Conditioned Power
Its Huge, definitely has some heft to it. Installation was straight foreword just need to accommodate for its sheer size. This piece of hardware will be living in the cable management tray of a Magnus Pro XL so you mileage may vary. Seems to be cleaning up my power properly; Only bought this cause I new I needed clean condition power for my rig. Connectors are solid. Doesn't have any electrical static noises coming from the unit so that's good. I'll say it does the job, but the best way to test if its really working is with an EMI tool to check voltages which I don't have (yet). Will probably get another one for my Home Theater.

Robust
Purchased in 2019, still going strong in 2025. Use it for my computer, monitors, and soundbar

surge protector
I use these on ALL outlets that have more than one plug in it incase of power surges so the power surges don’t take out the appliance/s that are plugged into them. I use them on computer equipment, entertainment in the living room, all other outlets with more than one plug in it.

No protection for ethernet in 2024?
I obviously missed this detail but this very hefty and apparently well engineered piece of equipment does not provide surge protection for ethernet (RJ-45) only telco (RJ-11). I honestly didn't even have occurred to me that it wouldn't. Seems like an odd omission in 2024. Would have given it five stars otherwise.
