Great product, better price!
I've been using poly-quat algaecide for years, but it is expensive from the local Leslie's or other pool stores. Poly-quat is non-foaming, not copper based so it won't stain your pool plaster and is highly effective at killing all types of algae. However remember that algaecide is part of a one-two punch. The other part is shock, either liquid or standard granules. So if you have a lot of algae on the walls and floor of your pool, very carefully and completely brush all the algae off the walls, floor and steps, dose with the poly-quat according to the bottle which is based on the amount of water in your pool and finally shock. Keep the filter running and no more algae! The other thing I do is to use this weekly even if I don't have an active algae outbreak as it ensures that algae won't grow. All around a great product. As I mentioned, the algaecide is expensive, but is much cheaper here on Amazon than at the pool store, is highly concentrated, 60% vs some at 20% and works like a champ!

Great stuff
I have used all kinds of algicide in my pool over the years. It’s always been a losing battle. I bought two bottle of this stuff and didn’t really have great expectations. I administered the algicide into the pool. The next day I was just amazed at how clear the water was getting. I applied a second application and the next day the algae was gone.I actually just ordered anothe bottle to use later in the summer.

Works great
This product works great. The problem is that when you purchase it the instructions for use are not available. Amazon needs to give us a picture of the back so we can read the instruction & start the pool prep while we are waiting for the product to arrive. There is a good amount of pool prep that needs to be done prior to adding the algaecide as well as the large amount of algaecide required if you have active algae growth. I have a 40,000 gal pool that actually required 2 full bottles for initial treatment and 1/2 to 1 bottle for mintaintence. If you want success make sure you follow all the instructions clean the pool, than super chlorinate for a few days, clean the pool again than add the algaecide. Make sure you continue with the maintainence dose or you will get reinfected. To ensure the filter was adequately treated I put 1-2 oz directly into the skimmer to reduce the dilution of the algaecide. Also when you are backwash & rinse make sure your last step is to purge the system or you may send contaminated water back into the pool.I highly recommend this product eliminating an active algae infection is not easy it will take a lot of work Kem-Tek 311-6 Pool & Spa 60% makes the effort worth it it contains a clarifier so when you finally finish you have your crystal clear pool back.

Worked for a small amount of algae with my filters
I have a bestway pool that is 12x30 inches that I use an Intex filter and an Intex saltwater filter. I was having trouble with my saltwater filter and my salt level so I didn't run it for a day or 2 while trying to get my levels correct.. BIG MISTAKE! I had some nasty film of algae covering the walls, and although my pool is small enough to drain I didn't want to give up my perfect temp of 90 degree pool water. I ordered this and put in one dose for my water amount and then ran my pool filter and saltwater filter for 12 hours. (I could have done less but that was the maximum and I wanted to kick some algae butt) Before putting this in I took a brush and moved the algae off the walls of the pool so it was floating. It looked like I really didn't have any algae at that point but the water had a green tint to it. The 12 hours of my filters and this algaecide worked so well. The water was clear and the bottom was almost spotless. The water did smell a little stronger like bleach than it does with just my salt filter so I was nervous for us to swim. I tested and we were in safe range and it didn't bleach our suits or notice any eye burning or anything. This was the day after the treatment. I'm so happy I have this in my pool chem arsenal.Note: I added the pictures I took of the algae so you could see what I was working with.

good product for most algae but not best for mustard ...
good product for most algae but not best for mustard algae which can be chlorine resistant. So IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A PROBLEM AND pool is YELLOW-GREEN, consider starting w a copper containing product and use this for maintenance after pool clears. If chlorine levels are high (>3), when algae occurred, its likely you have a high phosphate level and a mustard algae infection .I am not a pool expert but read a lot and have used this 60% product and have still had recurrant issues. My pool people finally cleared my pool w a copper product (Amazon has one for $11 from another retailer and goes much further than this product). I do use this 60% for weekly maintenance. Also, my experience is that if chlorine levels are high (3-5ppm) with your stabilized chlorine tabs, adding a lot of shock will only turn pool milky green, take longer to clear and prob not needed after Copper algaecide used..My pool people say they have had no problems with "copper staining" after 2 years of use but to be safe, I only use the copper product when infected or suspected algae ,or pre-vacation.One more point: I'm not sure why, after 16 years with no algae problems, I have algae problems for last 2 yrs in mid Summer. This has been noted by others in KC area and perhaps is related to phosphoric acid reportedly added recently to cleanse our city water supply. But I'm really not convinced that is the cause and no one is dumping lawn chemicals or other phosphates that are food for algae.
