Behold plays like an audio time capsule built of saxes, trombones and other horns (even tubas!), upright bass, brushes on drums, mellow sounding hollow body guitars, and vocals that are rich and distinctive but still somehow laid-back in their feel. Whereas Lauren Daigle s debut album was energy-laced, radio-ready pop, her Christmas project seems in some ways to be a confident re-imagining of her own versatile vocal gifts, showcased in a more mature and subdued, but also more eloquent, context. Behold includes nine yuletide standards and one original a tender, jazz reinterpretation of Lauren s first radio single Light of the World. Worshipful favorites like O Come All Ye Faithful and What Child Is This (here given a unique, uptempo feel with a fun tip-of-the-hat to Favorite Things from The Sound of Music) take their places alongside festive holiday fare like Jingle Bells and Merry Little Christmas.

Beautiful & relaxing
I love her voice, and bought the album after hearing the version of "Light of the World" that's on this album. I really like almost all of the songs, except for one. I just don't care for this rendition of "What Child is This". The bluesy/jazzy arrangement just isn't suited for that song, in my opinion. The sax and horns work fine for "White Christmas", and a couple of the other songs, though. She is versatile, and that airy, almost hoarse quality of her voice is easy to listen to. I play this album over and over (after I deleted the one song from the playlist). Highly recommend this album!

Lauren Daigle...The gift of an amazing voice!
Lauren Daigle, the new face of CCM, delivers an amazing diversion from banal CCM with this jazzy soulful gem of a Christmas album. The simple, organic jazz brings out the nuances of her soulful voice that are more difficult to distinguish on her debut album "How Can It Be" with it's typical overproduced electonic pop worship that's all to common in modern CCM. In other words, this style is more befitting for her voice. It would be awesome if her future releases sounded like this, but then I'm pretty skeptical about the industry. Just hoping this particular album of hers gets the attention it deserves.

I love Lauren Daigle. Very nice Christmas album. I ordered two. Both for my daughters and their families. They stated they very much enjoyed the album. I loved her accompaniment.

Great cooking and reading music
Lauren Daigle has a wonderful voice. I enjoy Christmas albums and especially when someone adds to the genre with something original. This is a jazzy, sultry set of songs in the style of Norah Jones, and it puts me in a reflective mood. I think it's wonderful when a local artist breaks through, and I have respect for her voice and message. She adds to the praise and gospel niche very nicely.

A must own!
A beautiful compilation of classic Christmas carols along with a few original songs. She’s a contemporary Christian artist who loves New Orleans jazz. Our favorites include Light of the World and O Holy Night. She’s a gifted songstress and we highly recommend this one.

Amazing!
Lauren's voice is just amazing. And this is by far the best Christmas Album I've listened to over the last years - it's got a bit of both - popular Christmas hits as well as proper Christmas Carols centered around "the reason for the season", which I loved as a Christian.
