San Diego Hat Company Women's Ultrabraid X Large Brim Hat

I purchased this hat for my vacation in Cancun. When I tried it on for the first time, it was a little tight, (as expected because I believe I have a larger than average head... approx. 23"). I did try and stretch it a little but I'm not convinced that worked. After wearing it for a while I think it fit a bit better. I wore it to the pool and in the pool while I was chillin' (being careful to keep my head above the water). I also used it to cover my face while sun bathing. It got VERY wet but dried quickly and recovered nicely. The first picture (accented w/red) is from day five of my trip. The second picture (accented w/black) is from day six) If purchasing, you should realize that the brim is quite large. It packed quit well, especially considering the size of the brim. I used the plastic it came in to protect it and also placed one of my sarongs inside the dome to keep it from squishing too much. While I was walking on the street, a gust of wind from a passing bus blew it off, but fortunately I caught it before it got completely away from me. It also blew off once while walking from the pool back to my room, so be careful of the wind! Each time I wore this hat, (which was every day I went to the beach or pool) I received numerous compliments, from "Great Hat!" to "Awesome Style." A kind woman actually made a special trip over to me to let me know that I'd made "Quite the Entrance" when I came to the pool! I decided to customize the hat to each of my swimsuits by placing a colored band around the dome which matched and/or complimented my swimsuit.

Ok tengo que editar mi opinión inicial: El sombrero se ve muy elegante y llamativo. Es enorme. El ala podría ser más rígida, definitivamente. No tiene alambré de metal para darle la forma, que lastima. Medio cae por lo que tengo que batallar un poco para colocarla de tal manera que no me tape la vista. Tarde pero entendimos al final que el moño que tiene arriba es para ajustar el sombrero a la circunferencia de la cabeza. Aunque al ajustarlo se forma una arruga sin embargo no se nota tanto. El nudo del moño con el tiempo se afloja, tendré que fijarlo con algo. Extraño un cordón para amarrarlo por debajo de la barbilla. No lo tiene prediseñado. Además, al sombrero le salían muchos hilos por todos lados y que tuve que cortarlos manualmente. Pero me gustó que tiene factor de protección solar, a simple vista casi no filtra luz solar y es más ligero que unos sombreros similares de otras marcas que he probado en vivo entonces no me va a cansar tanto el cuello en el final del día.

I was on the hunt for the biggest sunhat I could find, and this thing doesn't disappoint. The price is definitely worth it; amazing quality. The brim goes past my shoulders for maximum sun protection! Which is exactly what I wanted. :D It's a statement piece, for sure! I love it, I love it, I love it!

Hat was exactly how I imagined it and massive ! Def a statement peice which is exactly what I was looking for ! Not for the basics :P loved it !
