“precision” basket (or close enough)
The media could not be loaded. The portafilter comes with a basket, which seems close to that of a precision basket. It seems to be a 22g basket. To the naked eye, the hole diameters seem consistent. There are only two holes that I can see that have a flap of metal covering them. I’m no guru but this portafilter has performed well for me for the past three months. When Compared to the stock Gaggia classic pro basket, this is MUCH better. When switching from a bad quality stock basket to this one you might have to dial your grind finer to get the same level of resistance as with the stock basket. As far as the actual portafilter, the quality is great and it looks beautiful! It’s solid and very shiny compared to the stock Gaggia portafilter. The handle unscrews which means you could in theory replace it with a hand-made wooden one 👀My only gripe so far is that you have to press really hard on the basket to get it to come out.

This arrived in great condition, but I missed the change to 3cups!
When I first saved this item on a list, I didn't realize that it was a 3-cup, or a triple shot, espresso pour. So, I had to return it for a 2cup. The triple shot is too much for us and it definitely didn't pour right when we only added a double-shot worth of beans. The item itself fit perfectly, had no damage, and likely worked great for triple shots. Would recommend for that use! But it wasn't for us.

Nice portafilter for the money. They basket is surprisingly good too.
Works well with my Gaggia Classic Pro. Packaging was bare minimum but everything arrived intact. The finish is nice and shiny. An added bonus is the basket. I inspected the holes with a magnifying glass and was surprised with how clean and well punched they were. No rough burrs or clogged holes. So much better than the stock Gaggia baskets which are a mess under magnification. Now I no longer feel the need to buy an aftermarket precision basket. This set ended up being a money saver.

Works perfectly and includes a 20gram filter basket!
I purchased this bottomless portafilter for the Gaggia Classic PRO EVO. This product works as intended and includes a serviceable double shot basket - all for 40 bucks! I was struggling with the portafilter that came with the Gaggia machine, but with this, I was able to pull a decent shot on the first try. Not sure why anyone would spend almost double the price for other big name brands that don't even include the basket.

Naked and heavy-weight, accepts tall cups.
The best thing about this “naked” thing is that you can use a taller cup, and it’s especially helpful on the Gaggia Classic. Otherwise you gotta use little 5oz cups or shot glasses. It’s kinda like the original but with a bigger/better basket — and naked of course. Puts the previous $30 naked portafilter I acquired on amz to shame.

It is a poor quality filter holder.
At first impression, it looks very good. But once I took a good look at it, it has scratches and scuffs around it. In addition, the filter is very difficult (requires a lot of force) to remove for washing. And in addition, it emits splashes on the sides (due to lack of sealing) during espresso preparation.I'm very disappointed.

Don't be fooled by the title, this is not manufactured for by Gaggia
When you're looking for a bottomless portafilter, for the Gaggia Classic, this works but is not an oem part. If you're looking for an oem basket buy from a vendor like Seattle Coffee or whole latte love that does sell oem parts. With that being said it works as intended I haven't had any issues. Lastly, the portafilter that comes with it is very consuming, it needs about 22 to 24 G of coffee to work correctly. I threw it away and I just use the standard basket that came with the Gaggia Classic

Great portafilter, but....
ProsThe portafilter feels nice and sturdy. The handle can unscrew, perfect for if you plan to mod it at some point with a wooden one!The walls don't go low like some other Gaggia bottomless pfs available. You'll have a clear look at the extraction. The holes on the basket are nice and very uniform.ConThe basket is unusable for me because it came heavily dented. Very unfortunate because I had heard good things about the one it comes with. But in this condition, it it unusable.
