They are 5/8" overlay. So for a frameless cabinet they will leave 1/8" of the 3/4" front edge of the cabinet sidewall exposed.

Most cabinet doors are hung vertically. Do you mean an horizontal swing? This hinge has no strength for keeping things open. It does have a soft close and is a superior hing. If you want a hinge that will keep a door open under weight, try the Blum Aventos HK-S

The hinge and mounting plate come together as one unit. If you are looking for a replacement part, I don't know that answer.
