Happy I bought it
Review of Gosky 2019 updated newest spotting scope that came with canon dslr and iPhone adapter. I bought the scope to shoot a few eagle nest and screech owl that I know location of. I saw a guy with this scope and he was able to reach all the way into the tree while where the screech owl was located with his iPhone than I could with $3000 camera and 100-400 mm sigma lens. The review below is for those interested in shooting the moon. I haven’t tested it out for birds but expect the same issues. The photos and videos I posted of the moon were all shot on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. See pics and videos I attached. It was extremely windy yesterday and I used a light tripod so I think the pics and video could have been sharper. This morning I realized that I had a old fotodiox adapter I used to attach my canon lenses so that I could use it with my Sony A7ii camera. I had no issues attaching the fotodiox adapter to my Sony A7iii and the included canon dslr attachment to the scope so now I can use all 3 of my cameras. I have not taken any shots of the moon with dslr or Sony camera. It was a nightmare due to the weight of the camera body and trying to find the moon while scope was in vertical position. The moon was way up in the sky. It was so easier with the iPhone since the iPhone was lighter so my tripod didn’t shake much and it it automatically focused the moon most of the time and was better quality. I shot the pics in raw in my camera and video in 60 frames a second. I did not edit or crop any of the pics or video. These are straight out of my iPhone. Yup it got that close to the moon. I had to zoom in on phone not to get the vignette. Cons: you need to be patient shooting moon. It takes time trying to find the moon on a tiny whole of the scope. Weight balance of dslr or Sony camera will cause a shaky video if you don’t have a sturdy tripod and ball head. . So use a sturdy tripod with a pan handle since earth rotates so you will need to slowly move the tripod ball head to line up the moon. To much movement and your back to being frustrated cause you need to find the moon again. Pros: worth the price Feel like a kid when you see how far it can reach Want to keep exploring more Want to travel with it everywhere I go just in case you want to know what is that way out there Clear picture during the day Maybe easier shooting still subjects like eagle nest. I plan on lining up the full moon with Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty with this scope to compare the ones I already shot with my Sony A7iii If you have any questions contact me on Instagram Musicman33us

I'm a happy camper! :) works great for me.
Quite happy. Right from next day delivery and right of the box. I was feeling good. I only used is a little bit so far and never used a spotting scope before but this was pretty easy to figure out, set up and use. The magnification is really good for me. I could just about count all the craters on a 1/4 moon last night. I bought it mainly for crossbow target practice. So if I can see all the holes in the moon which looked like a pinky finger nail clipping to the naked eye, I'm sure it will do fine for target spotting. I have a Galaxy note 10 phone and it fits fine on the phone mount. It's takes a few times to set it up just right but it definitely works. Because the scope is already magnified to start and a long lens it takes practice to find the object even at lowest zoom but once you lock in and zoom in on it slowly and adjust slowly it's like "Wow"! Fact: I would definitely buy this if I hadn't already. I did my research on them. And this was one of the high rated ones especially for the price and quality. The tripod is nothing to brag about but it dose the job for a table top target spotting scope. You don't move it often once it's set. For bird and wild life you will need a good fluid head tripod made for real cameras and long lenses. The one it comes with is usable to start but it's not smooth so it's hard to lock in on the object. It's not the scope, it's the tripod. Again if I lost this scope I would have to go buy another one for what it's worth to me. Also be sure to read all the instructions and register your warranty. I'm a happy camper so far.

Great Optics
Exceeded my expectations. Great FOV and clarity. Focus knobs very responsive, mag knob a bit tight. Great scope for the money.

variable results with phone or camera adapters
This is my first spotting scope and I am very please with it's overall quality, weight and support. I have a Nikon DSLR camera... while the package came with a Canon adapter, the comments noted that they will supply a Nikon adapter... I did and then promptly sent the Nikon adapter for free. Still getting used to it, so at least temporarily I rated the picture quality 4 star... but I really haven't put it through it's paces in an area (beyond my backyard) where I could adequately judge... so likely will come back to revisit For the price, I'm extremely satisfied. update: I have not been able to get my Nikon D5200 to focus using the adapter. Newest problem is with the cell phone adapter and my new iphone pro 13. I cannot get the light settings to work in "photo" mode... all I see is a big white circle, no image, unless I remove the phone from the adapter, away from the eyepiece. then I see the phone able to auto-adjust and I can see (now a very small) image in the lens. It works "ok" when in video mode, but not any of the still picture modes. Must be something with the pro 13's three lens system.

Excellent zoom capability, pretty good optics
Bought this for a trip to Yellowstone (got there 2 days BEFORE the flood...) and used it to spot bison, elk, eagle, and pronghorn. To be fair, Yellowstone makes this easy... We just drove to Lamar valley, stopped along the road side and pointed this thing at any patch of earth, and BOOM - Bison! What this product does is make it very easy to see the animals off in the distance, beyond what the naked eye can see. I never snapped pictures of them through the scope because I was enjoying just watching their behaviors. The attached images show the capability of the scope. The first image is a test setup using the phone mount that comes with the scope. The camera is pointed at some school artwork that was 45 feet away (measured with tape measure, see red circled area and red arrow pointing to it). This artwork is where the kids glued pennies to the paper and drew something around them. As you can see in the second photo, I was able to put this on full zoom and you can clearly read the "One Cent" text on the penny from that distance! The third image is a shot of the moon (more difficult - It moves!) and you can clearly see the craters and features, but not SUPER clear. I think better optics would be needed for that, but this is not a telescope, so I was not upset by that. I got several comments from others in Yellowstone about what I was able to see - They were impressed that I was calling out what was out in the field - They couldn't see the animals with the naked eye.

2ND TRY WITH THIS PRODUCT WAS SUCCESSFUL.
This is an updated review of this product. I gave my first review 3 stars because although I felt it was a good product, I could not attach my iPhone correctly as the instructions were not clear to me. I found it frustrating and ultimately returned the scope. I received an e-mail from Gosky asking me to give them a second chance - they would send me another scope that I could keep (for free) as compensation for my trouble. I was quite surprised they would do this, but did agree to try it again. They offered to email me better instructions. I received the replacement and better instructions were enclosed which were much easier to follow. Using the scope without the camera is super easy and works well. The images are clear. To attach the camera takes a bit of time but when it's done, the camera on the iPhone can easily be used. We wanted to use this spotting scope to look at birds. I wish it had a bigger stand as the one included has to be used on a table but I imagine you could use a bigger stand if you have one so you could stand up while using the scope. I took some pictures and have included them with this review. Gosky is a very good company to deal with. I don't know any other company that would go so much out of their way to try to make a customer happy. Thanks Gosky!

Decent Spotting Scope, Terrible Phone Adaptor
The spotting scope was decent. With some practice, I was able to get a clear image of birds from distant fairly easily. I purchased the scope prior to my NZ trip to see blue penguin, and it was definitely worth it. Try to take a picture with the scope? LOL. Don't even bother. I don't know how people in the review were able to get good picture. I tried to take practice picture at home for hours, and it simple doesn't work. The spotting scope moves up as soon as you put the phone adaptor on, so you can never get to your original spot. Also because the exiting purple on the scope is already small, so trying to focus on distance with your phone on top of it is nearly impossible. Oh, the hole on the phone adaptor is also way too small. If your phone camera has a large lens (I have a Pixel 8 Pro and an iphone 13), you will end up seeing the edge of the adaptor. I tried buying other phone adaptors from other vender, and none of them work well. Bottom line, if you want a decent scope to see animals from distant clearly, this spotting scope is great. Trying to take picture with it? just forget it
