Fuel Filter Base Seal Kit For 6.6L Chevy Duramax Engines

2005 CHEVROLET 2500 LT CC SB 4X4 6.6L DURAMAX. This kit worked just fine. Only suggestions I have when rebuilding your filter head is place all the o-rings in oil and let them sit in the oil for a few minutes before install. These are NOT factory sizes. They are close, just not as soft or thick. I just did the rebuild on 11/19/21, and if anything fails I'll update the review. I used a synthetic thin viscosity engine oil when I lubed up the o-rings and seals. Take your time when rebuilding the filter head, watch some videos beforehand, it's super easy to do. Also I reccomend doing all of this in a large flat pan that will catch the oil and or diesel fuel. Clean the filter head with non-abrasive materials, and brake cleaner.

After taking apart the primer housing to install another brand (Dorman 904-124 Primer Fuel Filter Seal Kit) which I purchased on Amazon for $15.55 I was disappointed to find that some of the Dorman seals didn't fit and were all poorly made. Unfortunately my truck was stuck till this seal kit arrived. These were perfect and I had my truck running in under a half hour. In this case you really get what you pay for - these are quality parts. Highly recommended.

This is a great alternative to going to an auto repair facility and having them do it BUT beware - the V shaped seals need a little coaxing to slide the metal primer over - just use a small flat screwdriver very gently to slide it in-place otherwise it's a fight :-(

This was not a good purchase ! I purchased it because it was supposed to be a quality kit. The plunger seals did not even come close to fitting. They were visibly much larger diameter than the seals taken off the plunger. The other seals in the kit fit well. The parts bag had a taped on sticker which read "Fuel Filter Base Seal Kit for 6.6L Chevy Duramax Engines NEW" What the "NEW" means, I don't know ? My truck is a 2004 Duramax LLY. On my pump the other 4 seals were hard. I used the kit seals for these and they fit OK. Used the old seals for the plunger as I had to get the truck running and the old seals seemed pliable. When rebuild was finished the pump held vacuum, primed OK and the truck started fine. Why didn't the plunger seals fit ???? Be careful if you buy.

Excellent Kit! It arrived quick, the o-rings are VERY snug, as they should be, so have the proper tools to locate the lower primer cup seal. Bleeder screw is a nice upgrade and the directions were clear. Nice Kit, worth the extra money!
