I really wanted my groom to wear a velvet burgundy bow tie and picked this one out for him. It went with our wedding color palette and the quality of the fabric is very nice. He had already purchased a "real" silk bow tie and had taken the time to learn how to tie it properly. He wore this velvet one for me, but told me later he felt it looked a little flat and fake. Lol. It worked and I thought he looked very handsome, but I guess if you want the fullness of an actual bow tie, you need to buy one one or a button on that LOOKS more full and authentic.
