This fire ring is similar to the ones you'll find in campgrounds at state parks and national parks. You can put sticks across the top of the fire ring to help them burn (see picture), or you can prop sticks on the outside and kick them with the heel of your foot to break them into smaller pieces that fit inside the fire ring.I went to the Pilot Rock website and found accessories made for this fire ring. I bought a steel cover so I can quickly snuff out my fire if the wind picks up - I don't want to start a forest fire. They also sell a drop-in cooking grate which looks useful.

When we get this pit loaded into the ground with the stones built up around it we are gonna have some great cookouts and bonfires. Great product, came just as advertised.

Just like the fire rings at the State parks and perfect for the backyard enthusiast.
