The SCWD (pronounced "squid") is a revolutionary device designed to provide alternating currents without the use of electricty. Great Product
Works like expected. It will lower head pressure and total gph, but that is to be expected and it isn't by much. Creates random water flow my reef and fish love. Had one before, it wore out after about 3 years which was beyond my expectations.

Performance
I have been using this product for many years now. The wave action it creates in my tank looks and works great. The fish and coral love it. All this by using just the main pump.

It works very well UPDATED 2018
Product arrived packed really well. It worked excellent , and I would totally recommend it again to others! And what a deal with AMAZON PRIME! Did I mention it is SILENT! After who knows how many switches, mine has finally started to hang up every once in awhile. I have tried to clean it, still hangs.. After 4 YEARS of service, I must replace.. DEF would recommend!

3rd one in 17 years. Definitely worth it.
Bought to replace same item that finally stopped working. 3rd one in 17 years running 24/7 on saltwater tank. Never leak and no power or battery to worry about. Have run flow to well over 1000 gpm without issues.

Must buy
I have read the complaints with this product and I have found them to be true.However, if you put a prefilter after the pump and before this SCWD you will not get the premature failures with the gears.With that said, you can not find a cheaper, more reliable wave maker on the market today.

Update:Functions but loud grind
Rapid response on email from manufacturer. Good service. Rectifying our issue expediently. Update upon replacement.(Grinding and loud right out of the box. New hoses, no debris, and great water. Disappointed. Called manufacturer. Went directly to an answering machine. Trying to get resolved. Will update.)

Must clean regularly
Works as advertised, but can have a relatively short life. I've been through two......so now I clean one thoroughly every 6 months with a return pump cleaning and swap an already cleaned one in. That seemed to be a necessary step for longevity.

works well
small size and functions well so far (4 weeks) with my mag 7 pump. i replaced 3 power heads and a controller with it. coral are all happy.
