Simmons Mfg. 617SB Check Valve

If I could have given 0 stars I would have! I purchased this check valve to install in my water well. My old one failed and was stuck open causing air bubbles in my house when the pump kicked on. It took me a little time to line up a well service technician to install a new pump and this valve. I spent close to $2000.00 for a new pump and other components and labor. After the installation the system ran great for two days when it started blowing air bubbles again. It acted just like the old one. I thought surely it couldn`t be a bad brand new check valve, especially since it was a good brand name (Simmons) but after further testing, sure enough pointed to be a bad check valve. I called my installer back and he pulled the pump again to check it out. Sure enough, my brand new check valve was stuck hard open. My installer sold me a new stainless steel check valve and installed it. It was only $7.00 more than the piece of crap Simmons valve I had bought from Great Household through Amazon. Because my installer felt sorry for me he charged me $300.00 for the service call and a new quality stainless steel valve. I requested a refund from Great Household for the defective Simmons valve but they refused to give me one because by the time i got all of this done I was outside of their return policy window. WARNING - stay away from these Simmons valves and if you are looking for good customer service, don't look to Great Household help you!D
