Wife likes it! Good enough review and reason for me... That said: The Organic Cocotropic Superfood Mushroom Hot Chocolate Mix offers a unique twist on traditional hot cocoa by blending organic raw cacao with adaptogenic mushrooms like reishi and chaga, alongside maca root and turmeric. This vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO mix aims to provide a mood-boosting and immune-supportive beverage. Key Features: Organic Ingredients: The mix is crafted with high-quality, organic ingredients, ensuring a clean and health-conscious product. Adaptogenic Mushrooms: Incorporates reishi and chaga mushrooms, known for their potential to support immune function and promote relaxation. Additional Superfoods: Maca root and turmeric are included for their reputed benefits in energy enhancement and anti-inflammatory properties. Dietary Considerations: Being vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO, it caters to a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions. Taste Profile: The flavor of this hot chocolate mix is notably different from conventional cocoa. The earthy undertones from the mushrooms and spices like turmeric may be more pronounced, which some consumers appreciate for its unique taste. However, others have found it less sweet and more bitter than traditional hot cocoa mixes. To enhance sweetness, adding a natural sweetener like honey or agave nectar is recommended. Health Benefits: Wife said she experienced a calming effect and improved focus after consuming this beverage. The combination of adaptogens and superfoods is designed to support mood and cognitive function, making it a suitable alternative for those seeking a coffee substitute or a pre-bedtime drink. Pros: Made with organic, high-quality ingredients. Contains adaptogenic mushrooms and superfoods for added health benefits. Suitable for various dietary preferences, being vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. Offers a unique and earthy flavor profile for adventurous palates. Cons: Flavor may be too earthy or bitter for those accustomed to sweeter hot cocoa mixes (just add sweetener) Final Thoughts: The Organic Cocotropic Superfood Mushroom Hot Chocolate Mix is an excellent choice for individuals seeking a health-focused alternative to traditional hot cocoa. Its blend of organic ingredients and adaptogenic mushrooms offers potential mood and cognitive benefits. While the taste may be an acquired preference, especially for those used to sweeter beverages, the health benefits and unique flavor profile make it a worthwhile consideration for the health-conscious consumer.

I have been doing Keto for a year now and mix this with coconut milk, heavy cream, butter and some allulose to sweeten and i add sugar free whipped cream on top. This combination gets me through the day and keeps me full and satisfied. The taste is so good even my son enjoys drinking it.

The first purchase was way better, the Cocoa flavor was stronger. It does give me more energy and has been a great replacement for coffee. My second order the taste was completely bland. Could be the shelf life or maybe it varies. Not sure if I’ll order again for the price, if I get another bland batch.

Meh… It’s okay if you’re just going for a chocolaty taste. But I was expecting more. I haven’t scientifically third party tested the ingredients or the know how much of each mushroom is in this bag/ each serving. But this did nothing for me but make my coffee taste like mocha. The first time I opened the bag, I put some in a cup of Earl Gray hot tea. I thought I noticed a slight increase in mental alertness & acuity. But after that initial serving - I got nothing… Nada… I surmise that my brain responded to the low dose the very first time. But after that, there wasn’t much benefit derived after that (not even subtly) whereby my brain and my body perceived that it was getting anything from this brand/ product. My thought: if you’re going to be a nootropic, then work. Otherwise, there’s no point. Meanwhile, I can find other ways to make my coffee taste like chocolate. Hope this helps someone!

I was very excited when my Cocotropic arrived as it is my first product from Wild Foods Co, although I'm not a big fan of the new plastic foil/mylar bag as mine was a tad difficult to get open. But once I did, I was greeted with a very sweet chocolate smell, enticing me to indulge immediately. So I held firm and somehow waited another day to try it with my morning coffee. Adding 1TBSP of Cocotropic to my morning coffee and adding a few TSP of coconut oil for absorption, made for an excellent morning that day. As I mentioned before, it smells amazing. The powder, to me, smells like opening a bag of indulgent dark chocolate and once prepared, I find that it gave my coffee a very dark chocolate-y taste. This formula really is very similar to hot chocolate! The earthiness from the mushrooms and other ingredients mesh well with the raw cacao. It may just be me, but I did find the powder did not fully mix into my coffee any time I used it, so there was always a little grittiness to it and the end of each cup had sediment in it from the powder that was not mixed. Not a big deal, I expected that to happen. The reported effects of Cocotropic, for me, were very noticeable. I've used mushroom powders in the past and understood that I'd be on the receiving end of a delicious cup of coffee that basically gave me Provigil-like focus. Once my mushrooms kick in at work, it's VERY hard to pull me off task or get distracted, I literally plow through my work much more quickly. For me, the effects of the powder are so noticeable I can easily distinguish between my mental acuity ON and OFF the powder. I know it sounds hyperbolic when I say it but I feel as if I have laser-like focus about 20 minutes after having some of my Cocotropic coffee. Plus, I get that delicious chocolate smell and taste! Now, why a 3 star review for something I like? Well, it's really 3.5 stars for me, for two important reasons. I found that the week I used Cocotropic (and no other nootropics or my other mushroom powders), I was more jittery, all day, even well into the evening more 6+ hours after drinking my coffee. I made my coffee the same way each day: few OZ of coffee, 2 TSP of NOW Foods MCT Oil, and 1 TBSP of Cocotropic. I will try it with 1/2 TBSP to see if the effects are the same. The second reason I took off a star was that while Cocotropic includes turmeric(although, I do not know exactly HOW much is in each scoop) because curcumin is excellent for your body! However, without Bioperine/black pepper extract, the turmeric will not have the same absorption rates into your body, therefore decreasing its efficacy. The inclusion of Bioperine would increase the absorption of curcumin by up to 85%; I've found the most effective/affordable ratio is 100:1 curcumin to black pepper as very little black pepper is needed for the curcumin. However, synergistically, the addition of Bioperine also increases the absorption rates of all the other included herbs. Perhaps a future formula from Wild Foods Co will include Bioperine! Even though I only give Cocotropic 3 stars, it's not because I do not like the product -- I really do! -- or I will never use it again, I just cannot take a full serving because of how jittery it makes me, and the lack of Bioperine is a surprising choice by Wild Foods given that all of their products seem so well-researched and formulated to be as effective as possible. I am going to cut back to 1/2TBSP/serving and go from there.
