Weak handle
Aluminum handle is really weak and bends every time I use it. Plastic is sturdy.

Cheap but effective
Want to keep the slush out of your ice fishing hole? Inexpensive, no frills, but works. Not my favorite piece of gear, but does it really have to be? Low cost, high function, and when I lose, easily replaced.

i added a piece of wood to make the handle longer, other then wishing for it to come with a longer handle its a great skimmer.

Other than description false advertisement the product is pretty good
In the picture it showed it had a ruler to measure the fish and when we received the product there was no ruler on the handle

Does the job for cheap.
Couldn't quite believe the price for brand-name skimmers, so I opted for this El Cheapo. Know what? It scoops the ice and the water drains out the holes. Not exactly a complicated piece of gadgetry. Only quibble is that it's a few inches shorter than the one I lost a few weeks ago.
