Q: I ordered these and some had holes in them. After filling with sand most of the bags split. Worthless. Anyone else have that problem?

I’ve ordered and used over 500 of them and haven’t had any problems.

Q: Anyone put 3/4 crushed rock (which I have plenty of and no sand) or similar stone in these? Want to use these to weigh down some stands.

Yes you can as long as the rocks are not sharp. The bag is quite sturdy. I used a 50 lb sand and filled 4 of the sandbag to hold down my body bag boxing stand.

Q: Does anyone know if they are safe for the garden? Is there a way to find out? I know most plastics are labeled with a recycling number on the bottom.

I think they would be 'safer. But I believe these are polypropylene and will degrade if left outside over time.
