If you’re looking for an “On / Off” dashcam. . .This might not be the one for you. There are a LOT of different things to know about this device. There are a LOT of options as well. Honestly. . . I’m still trying to learn about it and all the things it can do!First of all. . . It works. . . Having said that. . .Let me give some more information. . . .Before you install it. . You should update the firmware. There’s information in the instruction booklet on how to do this. But the information was not totally clear to me. . . So. .. Here are some tips. . .You must have a microSD card inserted and formatted. If you haven’t already formatted it. . . Then you’ll need to do that first. Use the LONG USB cable and connect it to power. Go the settings and the last thing in the list is to format the microSD card.You’ll need to connect the larger “front” camera to a computer with the SHORT USB cable. There’s a longer “power” cable. . . and then there’s a “short” cable. If you plug-in the camera to power with the long cable (either inside your car or at home). . . Then you can play around with the camera . . .make adjustments. . . and so on. But you can NOT update the firmware with the long cable. When you’re updating the firmware, you must use the short cable, and then you’ll not be able to do everything else on the camera. I have no idea why it works this way. . . but it does.Open the main folder for the microSD card in the file list on your computer. Download the firmware update from the website that shows in the instruction booklet. Place it into the main folder for the microSD card.Unplug the short cord.Connect the long cord to power and the front camera. The device will automatically update the firmware and remove the upgrade file.I like the fact that the power cord has a USB end. I used a different dashcam, and the end of the power cord was a 12V connector. I only have one 12V connector in my car, so I had to purchase a “splitter”. The kit includes a 12V connector, if you need it. . . but. . . if you already have one that has a 12V USB-A connector. . you can use that.This dashcam is much smaller than it looks in the listing pictures. That means it takes-up less space on your windshield. . . but. . . if you want to playback the videos. . it’s really small. So you’ll probably want to play them on something larger.Not that you can remove the larger front camera from the windshield by moving it to the left. You can not remove the smaller inside / back camera.There’s an app. You can choose to control the device on the device itself. . . or. .. . by using the app. I think the app is easier. It can be connected via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.This dashcam is Made in China and being sold by a Chinese company on Amazon.

The media could not be loaded.  This camera is really good, but it's just that the IR light is too bright. I have the cabin camera mounted on the glass roof of my Tesla Y, which is the reason why I bought this camera because of the separate cabin camera to get the view up high. There is also the Pormido rearview mirror 3 channel dashcam that I did previously have, but the mirror was too big to use the sun visors, so I went with this viofo system instead. Mounting was super easy, mic quality is superb, but this is going to be not as useful for me to use on uber if the video at night is super bright washing out the people in the back seats. In the video and photo, I'm wearing all black shirt and shorts on black leather seats. How am I glowing like a god, but the seats are fine? I have been tuning the exposure in the camera settings, but really its just a brightness sensitivity for turning on and off the night vision. This really needs a way to adjust the IR light brightness. I will be returning this as the strobing night vision and washed out night time image render this camera entirely useless for my really needed purposes on uber.

This viofo a129 dual ir cam is a very potent dash cam. It features 1440p+1080p resolution, 256GB support, Wifi, Built in GPS, super capacitor, IR with a high quality sony sensor. Combine that with a discreet low profile body for easy tucked away installation above your rear view mirror. Viofo is a trusted brand in the dash cam space for many years. I would rate the performance of this as somewhere between a Vantrue N2 pro and N2S in features and image quality. The main difference being that this unit has a larger screen, wifi, a capacitor and a separate 2nd cam (interior). Low light and day time recording at the dual settings is superb. My favorite thing about the Viofo series its sleek angled foot print which allows it nicely integrate with most windshields and provide a stealth install behind the rear view on most cars. This cam is very helpful for rideshare drivers as it has a great interior cam which can be mounted either in the rear of your car looking forward or in the front of the cabin looking reward. The Wifi and App set this apart from the Vantrue and offer easier viewing and transfer capabilities. Menu navigation is intuitive and offers a crisp response. The package includes everything you need to install the dual cam setup in your vehicle. You can also purchase a hard wire kit or OBD2 plug kit for easier integration or to utilize the 24/7 parking mode feature to protect your car when you are away from it. Viofos reliability is very good and these a series are very durable in harsh temp climates. A definite bang for the buck considering all the features and image quality of this caliber for under $180. One of the top 3 affordable dash cams on the market that provides excellent image quality day or night.

So my first concern is how it mounts to the window ,basically a sticker. I’ve already had the internal camera fall off the window just from the vibration of my truck.Not a fan of that.Also, in order to have the parking mode on, you have to purchase the hardware kit and then hardwire it.So if you’re a beginner with electronic installation in your vehicle. You will be paying someone to set it up.so far that’s the camera ,hardwire and installation fee.actually, kind of pricey for an inexpensive camera.The screen also goes black while driving. I believe I can adjust that in the settings.The positives are I like the way it looks. When I get some time, I’m going to return it and hopefully the microSD.

This is an average good dash cam with a decent picture quality. Wi-fi connection and GPS features are -while not standing out- good features. The camera interface is a bit too complicated to use because of so many features. Otherwise, it is a good dash cam.

Many good reviews on this product, and so i was looking forward to install and see how this setup would perform. Initial quality seems very good. All parts have a solid feel to them with good quality materials used. In addition, all necessary parts are included, including a tool to pry vehicle trim pieces in order to hide the cables.Tried some footage in daylight and its nice and sharp with not much noise, however, colours are not great, due to a infrared filter used in order to improve night time footage. I can live with that.So whats the problem? The camera will not connect to my android phone (Asus Zenfone 8, Android 12) no matter what i tried, though it did connect to a family members iPhone, so likely a software rather than a hardware issue. So when one of the main features isn't usable, its highly disappointing. I'll try a couple of more times but seriously considering returning this product.
