Well constructed piece of kit that does the job neatly. I used it to close a 3.5" HDD onto a new 2.5" SSD. It did the job flawlessly, so that after substituting the new drive I was able to pick up immediately where I'd left off previously with the old HDD, without being able to tell that anything had changed (apart from the blisteringly fast speed of the SSD compared to the HDD, obviously!). The very first boot-up after swapping the drive needed a short and easy (even from a non-specialist like me) excursion into the BIOS options which was easy to intuit what to do, and then after that it was business as usual. This piece of kit made cloning my HDD onto the new SSD a breeze. The instructions are written in slightly clumsy English (obviously some use of a dictionary by someone who speaks rudimentary English or possibly used Google Translate) but they're reasonably easy to work out. The cloning process is straightforward and automatic - the one-touch button works as advertised. It took around 2 hours to clone a 1TB HDD onto the SSD. I don't know why it takes so long, but I left it chugging away, came back a couple of times to check up - and thanks to the 4 5-tracking LEDs I could see that it was getting somewhere - and simply removed the drives when finished. There's no specific indicator to show that the cloning has finished other than the "100%" LED being on without flashing, and it would be good to have a small LCD screen that could show brief instruction messages such as "Cloning completed successfully: remove drives" etc. The item seems solid and well-made. I would prefer the on-off button and the one-touch cloning button to be on the front or the top of the unit, and also to be more visible (different colours to the main boy and to each other, for example) - they're hidden at the back on the same side as the power cord socket. I'd also prefer for the lettering identifying them to be easier to read - it's impressed into the plastic of the casing but could be in-filled with white to make it more legible - but those are minor issues.

Does exactly as it says. I had a failing 1tb 3.5 HD which had my OS on. I used this RSTech to clone it on to a 2TB SSD. When finished i just plugged the new SSD into my pc and it booted straight up. It cloned a full 1tb and i had to use disk management to allocate the remainder.

This device works perfectly, with a range of SATA 1-3 drives, all different sizes/speeds/manufacturers. The best way to use this dock is to place your hard drive in it, turn your computer on, plug the USB cable in, and then turn the dock on at the plug (after your PC has booted). Then simply unplug the USB, wait for the drives to spin down, and power off the dock when done. This has been a great investment. I'm very happy, and it's super handy (and pretty fast too (with roughly 120MB/s of transfer speed).

Used this product to recover some data from a laptop HDD that had been sitting around for a while. The connections for a HDD/SSD were very solid and reliable to use. The connections weren’t flimsy, it was firm as expected. Setting this up was very easy as well as there’s no software required to facilitate the connection. Very plug-and-play. I used this device with Windows 11 and Windows 10 and it had no issues connecting. Compatibility was not an issue. For its reliability and and how compact it is, its excellent value for money.

Just bought one from Amazon. So far so good although it doesn't work on a USB2 port on my Linux Mint 22.1 jig so make sure that you plug it into a USB3 port. I suspect that the device is powered by a Linux kernel using the Linux dd utility. If that's the case then the manufacturer can improve the docking station by incorporating a disk cleaning functionality using the same dd command. To do this, you press and hold the OTC button with only 1 drive inserted. The firmware will be enhanced to detect that there is only one disk inserted and will proceed to write nulls or zeroes to the disk. It's quite simple actually. What a great product it would be if it will 'clean' your hard drive as well before throwing it in the bin. Updated on 18th Sept 2024 ====================== Just less than 18 months later it packs up so reliability is a big issue. I therefore have no choice but to down grade the rating to one star.

Very nicely packaged. The aluminium chassis gives a nice solid feel. Neat, small form factor on desk. The easiest product to use, plug into mains, connect USB cable to computer, insert up to two hard drives and switch on. Your drives appear in your file browser and away you go. The two 3.5" drives that I am using came out of my old PC. Having encrypted these two drives I use them as back up drives. I leave the bay switched off until I want to back up manually but the sleep mode works fine, turning drives off after a period of inactivity. A good solid product that does what is says on the tin and which utilises any old hard drives you may have for extra storage or backup.

Oggetto veramente bello, elegante, discreto e di minimo ingombro, fa il suo lavoro in modo ottimale. Legge e scrive su HD, SSD, schede SD e micro SD. Le 2 porte USB 3.0 costituiscono un notevole valore aggiunto per chiavette USB, il ricevitore wireless di mouse e tastiere, etc. Unica nota, il cavo USB3.0 ricevuto a corredo, nel mio caso, non funzionava. Tutto il sistema si 'inchiodava' irrimediabilmente. Provato con un altro cavetto (quello di un HUB USB 3.0 Amazon Basics), tutto regolare. Ovviamente, avendo necessità di un nuovo cavo, ho immediatamente segnalato la cosa in chat ed il problema, in poche battute, è stato aggirato in modo rapido ed efficace. Grazie Amazon! Per mera informazione, ho avuto altre 2 docking, analoghe, di altra marca e fornitore che, in poco tempo, relativamente al lettore di schede, hanno smesso di funzionare. Inutile dire che durante l'utilizzo di questa nuova docking, il mio pensiero va' alle precedenti :) Ma voglio essere ottimista: speriamo che duri.

Dockin Station per clonare Hard Disk con interfaccia SATA (non IDE) molto efficace, costruita con materiali buoni, veloce nella clonazione. La connessione USB 3.0 al PC, inoltre, consente di leggere qualsiasi Hard Disk collegato ai due slot come se fossero device esterni o pendrive. La dotazione di due porte aggiuntive Usb 3.0 e lettori card rende il prodotto quasi essenziale per chi ha diversi device da connettere al PC. Un buon accessorio al giusto prezzo.

impossible de faire dual boot un seul disque est reconnu. ce produit ne vaut pas la peine. Car J'ouvre ma boite aux lettres vers minuit le temps de contrôler le produit il est zéro heure dépassée et Amazon me fait savoir que je dois faire le retour avant le 29 septembre or je découvre le défaut sur le produit le 29 Septembre à 00:15.
