Classic, durable take on a proven MICROSPIKE design.
These have served me well, and I am buying a second pair. But for me they ball snow and leaves really quickly, I think it is the high number of teeth. But they are just great on the ice and packed snow, and have saved my neck many times! These are not really for rocky terrain, they are a liter version, but very good quality. They are appropriate for thick ice, and hard icy snow.Take them off on the asphalt road, or when traversing longer stretches of bare rock, to avoid grinding them down.WARNING: These fell apart after ~150 miles and almost 2 years of occasional, but heavy and challenging rocky terrain winter use. Because they ball snow and ice so quick, I kick them against the rocks to clear them, which beats them up pretty bad. The areas I hike in are very rocky, and the rocks are impossible to avoid. So inspect them, and replace them when:1. the rubber tears,2. when the points start to blunt, the points on my started to blunt before the links broke.3. When the links start to get beat up and ground down, with lots of scoring. Or if they have broken. If you don't they will continue to fall apart and that can ruin your day! Carry 100, or 250lb para cord for expedient repair, and a tool (like a strong blade knife, or needle nose pliers) to pry out the broken links to clear the holes. I have done this, and the repair will last for >20 miles. High quality Needle Nose pliers can easily squeeze opened links back together too. These have heavy TPU rubber, in a classic proven MICROSPIKE design. I always have spares when winter hiking, and in extremely challenging terrain/conditions opt for FULL crampons with 25mm spikes. I like the orange color which can be helpful if they come off and you don't realize it. These Uelfbaby microspikes are a little tight, but the TPU rubber is thick, and they stay on and do not move around much. I have learned it is much better in the long run to have them tight. When the snow balls up, just stomp on a rock or dead log to clear them. If the TPU tears, just buy new ones.

Order according to the size chart, great crampons.
I wear a 7.5-8 in women's but ordered a size up as the chart suggested to fit my snow boots. These were amazing on my super steep icy driveway. They fit my Columbia boots snugly and I never slipped or lost my footing once this winter. The construction of the crampons was great, and the spikes dug right into the ice.

Safe on ice
There are several types and brands of crampon ice grippers. The first pair I purchased had strips of coiled wire that cross-crossed on the bottom of the boot. They weren't effective, sturdy, or reliable. One or the other would keep falling off, and I would find it lying on the ground on the return walk back. They also had a habit of sliding sideways on smooth, glassy ice, which made them terribly ineffective and dangerous. After falling and breaking my wrist while wearing them, I decided to purchase a very expensive brand of spikes that were guaranteed to dig in and protect from falling. This brand looks nearly identical to Uelfbaby (they all look like something left over from the Spanish Inquisition) and they were triple the price. They worked brilliantly - I ran up an ice covered mountains with ease and immediately felt safe on any icy surface. However, a year later, the rubbery band that held them onto the boot just split in half, and that was the end of that pair. So I started looking on Amazon for another pair of spikes, and picked these out of a lineup of similar looking styles. I got them for my husband and kids (who are carrying a baby on ice). The first thing I noticed about these is that it's challenging to stretch the rubber band onto the bottom of the boot. If I had to give one piece of advice - when in doubt, get the next size up. My husband had a tough time getting the band to go over his Muck boots but once he did, they fit well - and he loves that they make him feel safe on the ice for the first time ever. He walks one of our dogs several times a day, and this is a total game changer for him. Since the rubbery band is so hard to get on and off the boots, he has decided to just leave the band on this pair and get a second pair of boots that he'll use when it isn't icy. It should be noted that it was also hard to stretch the band onto the boots with the first, very expensive brand I purchased, the one that tore, and I suspect this might be the same for other spikes of this type as well. Even though it's hard to stretch the band on the boot, I can't recommend this type of spiky protection enough. Buying these spikes + a second pair of boots to go with them is a fraction of the cost of treating broken bones from a fall on the ice.

Worked great for walking icy roads
These worked great for my husband & I this winter. Our roads got frequent snows so we’re more icy than usual. We put these on Sorels & all was great.

Pretty good for $20
I got 4 pairs of these. 2 xl and 2 xxl. They fit size 9-10 and size 11-13 Solomon hiking boots, and they were very tight. For what we were doing, something a little looser would have been better since they kind of squished the hiking boots quite a bit, but if you had solid leather boots they would be great. They come with an extra strap that none of us used. These were way better than no traction aids, and they worked very well. Didn't mind tracking over rocks with them since they are so cheap. Functionally they seemed about the same as the Katoolas that one person had. However they are definitely not as nice. A couple links were not closed properly, and we ended up beating them closed with a rock. One opened link caught on the persons gaiters causing ripped gaiters, ripped spikes, and a decently bad fall. I was able to beat the link closed again, but lesson learned. Inspect and fix these before use.Overall, these are pretty good. I'd definitely spring for Katoolas if I could, but these survived the trip and would work again.
