San Jamar 1000 Rubber Oyster Shucking Glove with Cotton Lining (Pack of 2),Yellow

I want to start off by saying I can’t review this gloves warmth or durability or any of those qualities because they arrived LATE!!!! So, this order was absolutely useless to me. :(However, I can rate other things, such are size...I have a ladies size small hand. L 6.8 in, W 3.1 in. SO when these gloves advertise one size fits all, who do they think they are kidding? Me, apparently. I photographed a pic of my right hand inside the right glove and bent the remainder of the glove fingers back that my fingers don’t use. I placed the left glove next to it to show how much bigger these glove are. I also included a pic with my hand in between the two gloves. The description says the gloves can be used either right OR left hand. WELL, from the look of the gloves, each on can only be used on one hand only. If you tried to use a glove on the opposite hand, you can see what is on the back of the glove, some sort of elastic binding.These gloves should be described as “Men’s Oyster Shucking, Work Gloves. One Pair....”Ladies, if you have a larger sized hand they may work for you as well. The opening is quite large with no way to close or tighten so it appears as if you can get anything inside your gloves that you may not want in them. I bought nitrile exam gloves to wear under them to keep my hands dry and warm at they oyster roast. Too bad I didn’t get to try them out. I am not sure if I am going to keep these gloves or not. Right now I am airing them out because they have a really bad odor that is from the rubber. When they arrived 3 days ago I had to pull the gloves apart and then pull each finger apart from each other. I find that weird and odd. It isn’t even hot here. Why do they seem to be “melted” together or stuck together? Rethinking whether I want them now or not.....

These aren't the best of the best in terms of quality, but they get the job done. We will clean them and save for next time we roast oysters. I wanted a pair (as opposed to some oyster gloves that just come with one glove for the hand that holds the oyster). That and price were the deciding factors in ordering these gloves. They held up fine on first use.

Was thrilled to received the Oyster Shucking Glove; however, after the second use it began peeling. Did not expect that at all. The glove now looks terrible. I would not recommend this glove.

Would like to have given them 3.5 starts but obviously you can't.I've had them for about 2 months now and used them at least a half dozen times.Goods:1 - They are comfortable and allow good finger movement.2 - The rubber coating is thick enough so you don't feel any sharp edges and I haven't pierced through them yet.3 - For only $8 or $9, much better than dealing with shell cuts healing for 2 weeks!Bads:1 - The photo and description are not misleading, but I have found the rubber coating should come up farther on the gloves. I'm not an expert or even very good at shucking, but you will get water/liquor/shells on the non-coated portion of the glove that will stain and smell.2 - The rubber coating still has a very strong chemical smell, even after two months airing out.

As advertised. Have shucked a lot of oysters with these and they are truly puncture proof as I have stabbed my hand several times with a very pointed and sharp oyster knife and did not even put a nick in these golves.

Overall good, but control your oyster knife handling

Great gloves, protects your hands while shucking oysters, keeps them dry and cut free.

These are just a pair of rubber dipped work gloves. Although they say you can use them on either hand, this is false. Although they claim one size fits all, this is false. They are regular gloves. I think they just slapped an ‘oyster shucking’ label on a pair of regular work gloves.

I was very disappointed with this purchase. These are very large and loose and do not allow for precise handling of oysters. They are not specific to shuking oysters (package reads "Utility Glove" - with a sticker added mentionning "Oyster Shuking Gloves"). I do not recommend this product.

Love the way that these work for other things.
