AtlantisTOY & HOBBY Plastic Model KIT SHRMN Tank, Molded Color

Since I am growing old, my memory and brain function are not as good as they used to be. As I result, I purchased this model and put it together with a patch over one eye. This eliminated depth perception and forced my brain to work differently. I am continuing this practice as well as others I found in the book Keep Your Brain Alive. I enjoyed the experience but I caution that if you choose to do this, buy only a model that is 1/500 or less because a 1/700 has too many very, very small pieces.

I enjoy building models and usually the instructions are clear enough to do what is right. This instruction leaves much to be desired. It is extremely small print (font size 1 or 2) and some of the part numbers are so small you cannot see them clearly even with a magnifying lens, the ink has run together in the numbers or letters. Then they use light grey ink to say what color to paint the different parts, but the lines going to the affected part gets lost in the model pictures. This is the only time I will buy from this company.

I purchased three copies of this kit for a group build/Christmas present. I was quite pleasantly surprised with the kit. Being an old mold, it had some flash, and it's not perfectly accurate (the North Carolinas never embarked helicopters, for example), but it looks really good.My only beef is the built up 'wall' that is meant to be the railings at the edges of the main deck... but I removed all of that and will replace with generic 500 scale photo-etch railings. Once that is done, I think I will be quite pleased with this inexpensive little kit. My son and my friend are just building them out of box with no added details, and they both commented on how nice the kit was too.

タミヤ製のようには行かないが、とても合が良いです。スムーズに組み立てが進行します。部品は、ある程度細かく成型されているので、組み立ては、サクサクと早く仕上がります。但し、バリは多いです。説明書は一枚ものになっていて、一度で全体はわかるのですが、文字なども大変小さくて、わかりにくいです。網が濃すぎて見えにくいです。この模型も、手すりの部分が板状になっていて不満です。アトランティスの模型はこれで3点仕上げました。できれば、展示台を統一してほしかったです。写真一点『1/480 ピッツバーグ』と『1/320 フォレストシャーマン』と『1/500 USSノースカロライナ』を同時に撮影しています。　　　　全長46cm X 全幅7.5cm X 全高14.5cm。
