USB and no Hub required
I had a couple of battery powered devices like this around the house and they were just too much of a pain to maintain so thought i'd get one I could plug in and then forget about.At the time of purchase it seemed hard to find a cheap usb powered unit that didn't require an additional hub so this was basically the only option I had and for me it has been good. I don't know if the sensors are always perfect but they are good enough for my casual usage.Uses the smart life app, that I already had installed as some of my smart plugs use it so nice not to need a dedicated app just for one device.Screen isn't lit so may not always be easy to read depending on where you place it, but you can always check your phone so I consider the display as a bonus anyway.

Very good with one exception
Although on careful reading of the details it does tell you it measures only down to 0degrees Celsius, I missed it and really need for it to read below as I want it for my greenhouse

Only managed to get it to pair once. When I tried to repair with a new network no joy.
Revised review. This item only seems to pair up once. Once you have paired it it feels like it cannot be repaired to any other network. I have tried many times to try and reset it with no success. Do not buy.

Does the job
It does the job, it allows you to view temperature and humidity from anywhere, results seem to be accurate enough for most people. What about the disadvantages, well it requires the Internet to work at all as the data goes through Tuya's servers. If those servers go down, this device is fairly useless. The screen is quite small and is just readable, fortunately you can get the data off your phone or tablet. The device will only connect to 2.4Ghz wifi which depending on your set up may cause issues. For what it is worth, Tuya have just taken 3 weeks to sort an issue which caused their servers to respond slowly.

Works as intended
As this is a wired device it is able to update every 0.1 degree, much better than the battery versions I have previously bought. Would recommend
