What’s the best way to store after opening? I’ve divided into small containers at put into fridge, but should I be freezing them?

I store mine in the original container on the floor of my finished basement near an outside wall. I feel the temperature extremes of refrigerated or frozen will affect the consistency. It seems to last a few months, storing it this way. Once I add color, I then refrigerate leftover containers and bagged frosting. I hope this helped.

If it’s not fluffy like buttercream is it a buttercream icing?
