Sturdy and so glad we got one!
This is the best item I could ask for in an accessible bathroom. We need the ability to swing it up to get the wheelchair in the shower and this fits the bill perfectly. Note, please make sure that this is installed with wood behind the drywall. We actually pulled the drywall out to put in several wood planks to secure this. It could not handle using things like anchor bolts. Lots of work to install it securely, but it was worth it!

Very sturdy and versatile.
Very nice and if you can afford it, they way less tacky than the ones that bolt to the toilet. We installed these into the studs, which we had to reinforce, so it was a little more work, but so worth it. We bought one for each side. Now my mom can walk by the toilet with her walker and raise them up out of her way when trying to get thru.

You need carpentry skills.
The product is very sturdy and well built. However, I highly recommend getting the one with a supporting leg from the same manufacturer! Luckily my husband has some skills and managed an installation by adding plywood behind the toilet. He then cut holes through the back of my closet to add extra bracing. Even with that, it still creaks if you use the front to push up. Just get the one with the leg support and you take a lot of the pressure off the mounting. I'd still add the extra board.

Excellent IF INSTALLED properly
We had these at our old house and just bought them to install here. To be safe they must be installed properly. The installers opened the wall from the back side. They put two 2" X 12" boards sandwiched together in the space between the studs. Then they inserted the bolts that hold the base plate of these in from the back, ie through the two thicknesses of 2 X 12s. We are larger people. We never had any give to any of these we used. Expensive, but worth it, and they work better than the plain fixed ones.

Keeps Us Secured and Safe- It’s Now Been A Few Years Now After Purchase
Keeps Me and Other Challenged Stair climbers, from falling when transitioning from one level to another. I had to Edit this to give update. We’ve had this for a few years now and and it still looks like new although it is outside going across our steep steps at the back of the building. This has stopped many people, especially my mother and myself from tumbling down the stairs. It’s so sturdy and still as secure as it was the first day we attached it to the building. Not to mention, this is also helpful when needing something safe to hold on to as we approach the top landing. I recommend this to people who may have arthritis or a difficult time physically with climbing to the top step off landing. I also recommend this to anyone who needs a safe product for their self or their loved when, to aide them in managing transitions from the stairs to a landing (at the top or bottom) safely.

Grab bar with innovative possibilities
I purchased this equipment to use as a stabilizer while doing various exercises in my garage. It does require serious mounting backing and bolts, but it can be done by any person with handy skills and tools. I used some 2x6's that I bolted across two studs (outside the sheetrock since appearance wasn't important) and it is very sturdy. I can use the bar and then easily flip it up out of the way. I need to do leg exercises at the hip, knee and ankles on both legs so this bar provides the stability I need in order to insure good full range on all joints. I feel secure and safe during the whole process.I admit I was using the back of a dining chair before I saw this grab bar while looking for a shower grab bar and hit upon the idea. Needless to say the dining chair did have serious limits. I have been using this bar with great success for a couple of years now so I thought I should write a review for others who may be looking for something along these lines.

Perfect!
We installed this in my elderly mother's bathroom where the toilet is between the sink and shower and there is no wall for a grab bar. It works AMAZING!!!! It is incredibly strong, sturdy and well built. There is even a clip on the wall for it to "lock" into.(We had to gut the bathroom- so inside the wall we put a 4x4 post attached to a stud and used concrete board for the wall. w mudded the all and painted it and then bolted the grab bar to the wall.) When pulled down and put into place, it comes down from the wall slowly. It is perfect. It is larger than I thought it would be, but it is the right size! I saw this grab bar on Pinterest when I was trying to find a solution to the "no wall by the toilet and need a grab bar" problem. I was pleasantly surprised to find it on Amazon!! Quick shipping and a great price for peace of mind and safety for my mom. See the pics of it installed.

Our bathroom walls are solid wood (log home), so installing this exactly where we wanted was easy. It's also very sturdy and safe to use for someone like me with balance issues when climbing in and out of the bath. I did have to replace the hardware as it was not sufficient for solid log wall installation (used lag bolts, instead). No other issues or problems installing or using this safety rail. Highly recommended. :)
