Worked fine for what I needed. I shortened several 1 1/2 inch manila climbing ropes and wanted these to cover the cut end to prevent the end from fraying. I did learn to heat from the cap end first instead of the open end otherwise as the open end shrinks it effectively pushes the cap off the end of the rope. They've been mounted for about one month now and receive frequent use and are holding up well.

These work great for rope as well as cable, wire, and other terminal ends you want to weatherproof and protect. The adhesive works great to lock in place all of the strands to keep it from unraveling permanently.

Used these to seal the end of some steal tubes I used for a roof rack. Was a bit nervous about the tubes being rectangular and these caps being round, but they shrank down good with a heat gun and formed a nice seal.

Worked out perfect to terminate my climbing rope at the bottom. These caps are WAY thicker than standard shrink wrap, so take your time when heating them or you can burn them up before they actually start to tighten up. Slow and steady wins the race with these.

Used to secure cut ends of 1" manila rope. Works great! Used propane torch to gently warm the caps and shrink them into place.

They shrink like expected on the sides. The top end will not shrink down. And they split easy. 2 split before they shrank down tight.
