This says rust proof, but also says carbon steel. Does it rust?

Carbon steel will rust. This towel may have a coating? But if you care for the trowel and don't leave it wet for long periods it wont rust. Mine hasn't rusted and I keep it outside on a window ledge. .

Does the metal go all the way through the handle?

I just looked at mine and it appears to go all the way. The rubber handle is very thick and hard, so it is hard to tell. I will say this is the best trowel I have ever owned and I've owned many that bend, rust, break, etc.

Shoot, it is made in China!!! I wish I would have bought Fiskar at least they are made in Finland. Why can't we make garden tools in the US.

The handle is 7-1/2 inches, (6-1/2 inches rubberized, the trowel itself is 7 inches long.
