Q: what is the little loop for?

The loop is a rod holder, designed to hold your fishing rod while tying on a fly, hook, or lure, giving you two free hands. It is secured with Velcro.

Q: Is the triangle on the backof the shirt Velcro attached or sewn

The PFG label on the rear is sewn on but can be removed with relative ease if you are extremely careful and sever the stitching on the exterior of the label. I used a pointed surgical scalpel. Stay clear of the stitching between the label and the shirt. If you put a nick in the shirt material or pull a thread in the shirt you have ruined an expensive purchase. I’m a self confessed habitual label remover !!!!!!!

Q: I am normal build with a little gut. i'm normally a Medium but the tamiami MED seems huge. should I try the Small? anyone else have this problem?

I'm not sure what "Normal build," is exactly. My husband is 5'10" and 205lbs. I bought him a size large and it fit him pretty well. Maybe slightly big.

Q: Is it still worth it to get this shirt in dry climates or is it really more ideal for humid weather?

I've actually found that it performs best in hot dry climates. I live in the Sacramento Area where our Springs, Summers, & Falls are very hot & dry 90-100 F and <40% humidity). I have about 25 of the Tamiami II shirts that I live in from mid-April to mid-October. They keep me cool & dry. I was in Washington DC last August and brought these along to wear. They don't wick as well as other materials so I was less comfortable and would probably switch if I was in hot & humid climates for extended periods.
