If you've ever wondered "what if" about an old crush, this book is for you!
Schorr's story of Stephanie Cohen, a 30-something paralegal who hasn't had much luck in the long-term love department since breaking up with her college-boyfriend-turned-buddy, is a relatable one. If you've ever had a "what if" moment about the high school or college crush that never turned into something more than simply that, you'll enjoy the twist that 'Just Friends With Benefits' takes when Stephanie goes down that road to act upon the spark she always felt with Hille, her longtime crush who became part of her core group of close friends. You'll especially enjoy this story if you've ever had a crush or romance from the past intrude upon your present, roadblocking you from meeting or pursuing a relationship with a potential better match.Stephanie is an endearing character whom Schorr brings to life through her clumsy tendencies, occasional self-doubt, and missteps in love that she has to work through in order to grow. Schorr also provides enough depth in the personality traits of Stephanie's close friends to make these characters come to life and fully engage the reader -- enough so to make you cringe at some of the ribbing Stephanie endures and has come to expect. If you're looking for a fun weekend read, pick this book up!

A fun story that takes a chick lit stereotype and makes it exciting
Even though this was Meredith’s first book, I finally just got around to reading it. I loved her other books and wanted to give her debut a try. I was definitely impressed! While it covers a cliché topic in the world of chick lit, it stays interesting and exciting throughout, with some drama and twists along the way. The interactions between her characters felt natural and genuine. Even when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it and even e-mailing Meredith to tell her if something made me think of Stephanie. Of course, I loved that most of the story took place in DC and it was easy to visualize in that respect. My only “complaint” is that the ending wrapped up too neatly. I think there are a lot of directions she could have taken it in and was a bit surprised by the choice she made. However, most books wrap up neatly these days and for a debut novel, it’s incredibly polished. Meredith’s fourth novel comes out later this year and I’m eager to devour it as soon as possible! My ideal cast for a movie version:Stephanie: Jenny Slate http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2809577/?ref_=nv_sr_1Paul: Ike Barinholtz (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0054697/?ref_=nv_sr_1)Hille: Stephen Amell (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1854386/?ref_=nv_sr_1)Hope: Lyndon Smith (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5108838/?ref_=nv_sr_1)Ryan: James Marsden (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005188/?ref_=nv_sr_1)Suzanne: Anna Camp (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2319871/?ref_=nv_sr_1)

Sweet Satisfaction
Stephanie Cohen is one hell of a heroine. The author gives us a character every woman can relate to and from the start you can feel the connection. She has a way to embrace each reader with the quirky personality Stephanie portrays leaving every reader giggling through the story. Making mention to several shows that we can relate to Schorr adds the nostalgia many readers enjoy. We walk through Stephanie's life as she searches for the perfect happy ending but heartbreak, embarrassment, and anger creep up instead. Schorr allows the reader to experience those frustrating circumstances that each one of us as woman experience and as each page turns allows us to relate to Stephanie and create an even stronger bond.As we all know there is nothing complete without a happy ending and Schorr delivers in this adorable and fun read. You'll be rooting for Stephanie all the way to the end. Overall a fabulous and fun read. What will Schorr come up with next?

Funny & Lighthearted
After reading 2 book series' that left me feeling very depressed, I was looking for something fun and light-hearted and I stumbled across this book in my kindle library and decided to give it a shot. I loved it way more than I thought I would! I laughed out loud through the whole book. I love the dynamic of the main character's friends, Suzanne being my absolute favorite. I gave a 4 star because it was just a little bit repetitive, and that is probably because I read the whole book for hours at a time so I didn't need as much "reviewing." That being said though, I couldn't put it down! I wanted to see how it ended so badly, and it's so relatable. I have been in her situation before and it almost felt like it was my story being told. Very entertaining.

Sweet like the candies on the cover!
A sure way to win me over as a reader is to create a main character that I would want to spend time with in real life. Well, in Just Friends With Benefits, Meredith Schorr has created an entire book full of people I know I'd want to hang out with if they were real! Stephanie Cohen was quite complex, and although it was heartbreaking to read those deluded or self-sabatoging moments of hers, they made me care even more about her - perhaps because I've gone through similar moments myself. I'd like to mention Stephanie's relationship with her mother here. At first it seemed like Stephanie's mom was just had a normal, nagging mom, desperate for her daughter to get married. But as the story unfolded, I got to see that their relationship was a lot deeper than I'd originally thought. I thought their moments together (or on the phone) were extremely well done. This is a fabulous read with a little bit of everything - longing and heartbreak, seizing the moment and putting it all on the line, good-natured ribbing and endearing emotional support. And humor. Lots of humor. Can I just say: "do the hustle!"? ;-)

Sweet & charming tale
'Just Friends with Benefits' is a sweet, charming tale of Stephanie's relationship with Craig Hille. Written with honest vulnerability, she wears her heart on her sleeve & allows the reader to have an indepth peek into her mind & emotions.Naturally, the course of true love doesn't run smooth and there's plenty of hurdles in their path as they conduct their fling in all sorts of places - the bath being one. There's an ex-boyfriend Paul, a new guy Robb, and an interfering mother in the mix. This book is easy to read, touching and a good lesson for any young girl about to embark on a friend with benefits.

Great book
Enjoyed reading about Steph and her mates. I liked the ending very much and I had no idea till the very last page nearly how it was going to turn out. Really worth the five stars I gave this book and I will look out for more from Meredith Schorr.

A good read
A very enjoyable book, a cut above the usual chicklit. Well written with relatable characters. Slightly annoying that I couldn't figure out how to pronounce her love interest's name - Hill, Heel or Hilly?
