What is difference between Clay types polymer vs paper

Polymer clay is permanent, waterproof and durable. Paper clay is not. Polymer clay will hold details better. Both are lightweight. Polymer clay will not harden completely until baked in an oven. Paper clay can always be reactivated with water ifnotnhas not been sealed

Does this work with other brands? Specifically Arteza?

Yes. Adhesives and glazes will work with any brand. I'm reasonably sure even the softening agent would work just fine. Make and bake a small test piece to check for durability and appropriateness for your project
