Gutes Encoderrad.

This wheel is an excellent choice for direct contact speed monitoring of a CNC converted machine with no feedback from the motors. You attach this encoder wheel to the encoder itself, and mount it so that it actually gets driven by the spinning shaft , collet, arbor, or pulley. It's a nice robust tire that feels almost like hard silicone. It's got very good grip, and doesn't seem bothered by cutting oil, or other lubricants. That's definitely nice, because if the wheel was able to slip, you'd never truly know how fast your encoder was spinning. It's got a nice milled aluminum rim onto which the runner wheel is affixed. It has two set screws to lock it onto the encoder's shaft. All In all, it does what it's supposed to, and it's a very "analogue" solution for interfacing a spinning object with an encoder. Great Stuff!

Sold as a encoder wheel, my intent is to use it to drive a large cat exercise wheel, it is however harder than expected, (it seemed more flexible in the video, so I think I need to add a softer cover to the relatively hard silicone to get the necessary frictin The silicone ring is bonded to a precision machined aluminum hub.
