Q: Anyone who owns this for at least 1 year, can you chime in? Is it still working, still good? If not, any recommendations?

As it turns out you caught me after 13 months with this dock. I love it, I've used it on MacOS Mojave all the way through Ventura and it's the best with my 2 4k monitors of any dock I've ever had. I upgraded my cables to my monitors from the dock and bought a very good cable from my laptop.

Q: Will this work fine with a laptop requiring 65w power? Also, does my windows laptop require display link driver?

I'm running a Mac that requires 80w or so so this dock will supply more than enough power. You will need displaylink drivers.

Q: my pc has an hdmi and dp 1.4a out. is there a way to get this to input thru the kvm switch as a usb c in?

The VT7000 does not function as a KVM docking station and will require a USB-C port featuring DP Alt Mode to operate all three external displays. If the docking station is connected to a laptop that does not feature USB-C DP Alt Mode, it will achieve 2x external displays via the DisplayLink specific outputs on channel 1 and 2. Q: While docked, can I use the computer when the laptop is closed?

You may need to modify some sleep settings to allow for the laptop to stay on while the lid is closed, however, once that setting is enabled you will absolutely be able to utilize the dock with the laptop lid closed.
