Wish I had read this when I first started teaching!
I so wish that I had known about and read this book when I first started as a student teacher and for my first year of having my own classroom. If you are a new teacher, I strongly recommend that you read this--I've read a handful of books on classroom management and have never found any advice as logical, practical, and helpful as what is to be found in this book. I'm feeling very confident that these strategies are going to help transform my classroom management and, in turn, my students' academic progress.

Must read for all teachers
I would put this right up there with the very best of the books for classroom management. Tools for Teaching, The Classroom Management Book, and this. The difference is this book is for veterans and new teachers alike. It’s a quick read. You’ll love it.

Game changer for me! I highly recommend!
This book was so helpful to me. I'm in year 19 and this is my best year so far in regards to classroom management. I have followed the rules and consequences and the kids know what to expect. I have not gotten angry or frustrated much at all. I let the rules and consequences speak for themselves and refer back to them, not try to reason with kids or question them. The author's ways of thinking and perspectives on different areas (such as dealing with disrespectful students, avoiding labeling, and how giving reminders makes classroom management more difficult, and sooo much more) make so much sense! I wish I read this my first year of teaching. I want to share it with every teacher I know! I suggest you read it with an open mind and give things a try and stick to the plan, which is easy. I refer back to the book every couple of weeks...so much good stuff in there!

Must Read
I was looking for a refresher on classroom management because I could see myself spiraling down a road filled with incentives. I first listened to it on Audible and loved it so much I really wanted to study it, so I bought it! It's such an easy read and everything he says makes sense. Feelings he described teachers may have when having a management style of incentives was dead. on. I'm excited to take Michael's advice and implement it next year. This is a must read for anyone wanting to better their classroom management style for all types of students!

It's like finding the Holy Grail
This book is so inspiring, so useful, so solidly practical and helpful. I just devoured it, finding wonderful ideas on every page. It sets out a clear and simple road map to having an amazing class, and every idea rings true. For a teacher like me, who may have been losing the thread a little, feeling worn down and worried about how to hold the class together, it's like a drink of water on a hot day. After reading this book, I feel ready for anything, my energy and passion for teaching renewed, and am eager to begin the process of making my class into the best in my school!

I would recommend this to anyone
I have learned so much from this. I work with special needs students, which the book isn't geared towards, however, so many of the strategies and the general approach really helped me. I would recommend this to anyone.
