Brave Charlotte

Sweet and cute story that we bought for our Baby Charlotte. Pretty illustrations also!

Personally I love the story.

Charlotte is brave, but she is also defiant, which I'm not totally into. She puts herself in dangerous situations (hitch-hiking with a stranger) that I'm not really into either. But the illustrations in this book are truly gorgeous! So we still read this book but with our own new words, with less tut-tutting from the older sheep and Charlotte being applauded, not derided for her sense of adventure. Also when she gets into the pick-up truck, it's because she knows the driver -- they're friends!

This is one of my favorite books. I bought it to give to a friend who raises sheep and she will recognize the "independent nature" of little Charlotte, shake her head and laugh. You are rooting for Charlotte the whole time.

My grand-daughter loves this book. I'm reading it to her (again and again) but soon she'll be reading it herself.

The illustrations are great! I'm not sure if it's the translation or what, but the story is not particularly engaging or all that original and I don't feel like my kids were all that enamored either.

This was the perfect gift for my friend who just gave birth to her "brave Charlotte". Cute story.

Daughter loves it. Especially when she feels like she is in the book
