Puzzling Escapes Trapped in the Bookstore

Bought this for my 16 year old son. We’ve done several escape rooms and enjoy puzzles. He said the puzzles were challenging. He needed the hints for some. He enjoyed the book but said it was too short. The book cannot be passed on as he had to tear out pages and write in the book to solve puzzles. So a bit pricey for a one time use.

More like 2.5/5 stars. At first, I was extremely excited about this puzzle book, but I quickly realized that this wasn't the relaxing book of puzzles I thought I'd found. I was flipping back and forth in different sections of the book, accidentally missing a few puzzles that were connected to other puzzles. I didn't like the idea that I had to cut out the "objects" in the back part of the book, for lots of reasons. Also, on at least a few of the puzzles, the answer was either wrong/flipped-around (i.e. 881 vs 188) or the key in the back didn't match the answer, even after I checked the solutions section to make sure I was correct. Finally, the puzzles weren't nearly as hard as I thought they would be, leading me to over complicate them. If you can bear the over-complicated aspects of this book, you will probably enjoy it for a little while, a few hours tops. I recommend copying the "objects" and "answer" sections so that you don't have to flip/jump around in the book so much. I hope this feedback helps.

This is more for those who know how to solve puzzles which I need a basic beginners book lol otherwise it’s great for those who know how to do this

The order to which to solve the puzzles is confusing. You are constantly having to flip back forth within the book for objects, hints, conclusions which can get annoying. Many of the hints were obscure and were not helpful. A few of the puzzles required higher levels math like finding the surface of a circle, prime numbers, square roots etc. Which wasn't enjoyable. Even after looking up solutions to puzzels. I still don't get how they got the answer. Had to google alot. Overall it was just confusing, hard and didn't make any sense.

Got this for my sister!! She loves it and is having the best time trying to figure it out. Tips for when you get stuck are VERY helpful.
