Great go to book for anyone
Absolutely great all key topics discussing guide for academics, practitioners and simply those loving the subject of digital marketing. Great selection of templates, tips and case studies. The focus is on keg marketing aspects with no injection of other perhaps less relevant aspects. Focus on responsible digital marketing practices is also a clear USP of this book. It is now a core textbook across all of the teaching I do in the University.

If you want to understand at a high level what a digital marketing strategy is, check this out
This is Simon’s 3rd edition of his book “digital marketing strategy” which originally came out in 2016, but he has kept updating it. This 3rd edition is updated to support a post-covid world. The book runs to nearly 400 pages and covers all the subjects you need to setup and define your digital marketing strategy. From knowing your business objectives and your customer, to integrating digital change into your wider organization, from using a channel strategy to reach your clients to conversion, retention and measurement. As I’m sure Simon would admit, each of these subjects could take a book in itself, this book is an overview and Simon even suggests further reading should you want to dive in and read more on the subject. If you are looking to create your digital marketing strategy, update the one you have or just need to know the questions to ask then, this is the book for you.

It's OK as introduction
I think the latest Dave Chaffey and Co. book (2022 or 2023?) digital marketing book has more of the much needed "how to" rather than "why". Still quite complicated and at about 500 or so pages a bit long. Taken me about a month and i'll need to read a lot of it again and take notes. As things are changing fast, you might want to wait for the next edition of the Chaffey book. I don't know when that is but it's also likely to be quite expensive. Good used current one about £50 already.

Applicable book
I find this book very helpful, beneficial and applicable. I have used older version in my Master degree university- althought it was marketing strategy, not digital. As this book is focused onthe digital ecosystem, I find ivery useful. Every chapter also shows the application to digital marketing. This book can definitely be used even if you like to create marketing strategy only.

Great book.
This is a perfect book if you are new to the field. Everything is to the point, easy to understand. I would recommend this book to those who are interested in Digital Marketing.

Please don’t waste your time and money as I did. It’s a complete waste of time and money. I read all these nice reviews and I thought this would be a good book, but definitely not. I didn’t learn anything new from these hundreds of pages, it was very repetative and didn’t contain any gems. So please despite all the good reviews trust me, it’s a complete waste of your time. If I compare this book to a book like ”How to win friends and influence people”, I would give this a 1 star and that book 5 stars. Definitely don’t recommend.

A good book for most starters to digital marketing. You can go to the specific topics to get an overview of topic like social media, email or search marketing. There are also topics on consumer behaviour and the digital ecosystem which will prove useful for all those who like to get an overall knowledge of digital marketing.
