The quality and great look!
Great for the price. They hold water and paint well. Points are nice and hold shape great. The sizes are good for floral paintings. No shedding and they clean easily. They are sturdy and beautifully made.

Good Brushes - Good Value
Why did I wait so long to use Mops (Quills) Using wide flats, mostly synthetic sable before These seem to hold more water, and because of the soft synthetic squirrel there is an ease of use in being able to put paint over dry watercolor without as much disturbance in below layers. I find that the points for a large brush are very fine ( especially on the smaller of the two) but you do need very sensitive control of pressure, since the brushes are so soft. These are a great value and as all Quills take a little learning, since they hold a lot of water, and are very sensitive to pressure. The results are well worth it. Using them a lot.

Wonderful, affordable, quills! Had to come back and include pic
These brushes are just wonderful. Iโve had a set of smaller Dugato quills for years and just starting using them more frequently. I wasnโt thrilled with them so went hunting for another set. So glad I landed on this set. The ends come to a very fine tip and the bellies hold plenty of pigment. Iโm so excited to really get going with them tomorrow! Edited: These two brushes can do the work of about 15 other favorite brushes combined. They come to such a beautiful point and hold so much paint that I was able to do these two tiny bushes with one dip in pigment. Highly recommend ๐

Game changer for a loose/impressionist style
I have learned that it is better to go up in brush size and decided to give these quills a try because all I have are smaller rounds and a 3/4โ wash. I am blown away with how much easier they are to paint loosely with. They are so soft and supple and trees looked instantly better and were a lot easier than with my stiffer more expensive brushes. With the #2 quill my jaw dropped with how easy it was to make realistic tree trunks and branches that only get smaller as you go up and out. This has been a struggle with my aqua elite rounds and rigger which are much smaller than these quills. Iโm not saying these are better than the Princetons - just a different tool, sometimes you need a stiffer more accurate brush, other times more free flowing. You want something that holds more water and paint all the time (these do!). They are very soft and make working with delicate washes very easy. My only complaint, and the reason why I docked a star, is because I do not like the handles. At this price point it is acceptable and arguably still a 5-star brush simply because it is 100% high quality where it matters the most. What I like about more expensive brushes is the handles are grippier, confidence inspiring, and have a nicer balanced weight to them. The handles also feel a bit short - but that may not be a bad thing because I plan on traveling with these. Another thing to note these are smaller than other brandโs equivalent #6 quills. This is probably closer to a #4 quill from Princeton. Also, do not get these confused with Round brush sizing (2,4,6,8, etc). Quills are much much larger. I paint smaller (10x7โ) and often times splitting the page into quarters and doing small studies and the size of these brushes is perfect. I cannot recommend these enough!

I love these Quills!
Iโve wanted to try quills for a while. When I saw an artist I like post a very favorable reviewโฆ.that encouraged me to give these a try. They are great! For me, itโs everything I love about a round watercolor brush times ten! The brush holds so much paint, yet keeps a point, making fine lines like Iโve never seen before. Iโve been painting a little more than a year, and have found my go-toโs over time. These are now part of that handful of favorite utility brushes that are used in almost every painting. Iโm very pleased with the two sizes. The larger one is a great replacement for a 10 or 12 round. The smaller replaces my 6 or 8 round. This painting was done almost entirely with the quills. Iโm in my second year of painting and the painting is from my own reference photo. There are still places that I pull out my rounds, but itโs so much easier to continue painting with the reservoirs in these quills. Rounds have a finite width, and are still my choice in small areas. These quills are work horses!

Absolutely in love with these
I have many quill brushes including Jackson's, Princeton and others. These are my new go-to!! Super sharp point, huge soft belly that holds a ton of water and pigment, doesn't drip all over like some thicker bristled synthetic brushes, very soft but maintains shape, lots of control, and the two sizes provided are perfect for any and all of my needs.

Love them!
It is always a risk to purchase inexpensive, or moderately priced watercolor brushes. These were recommended to me for a good mop brush at an affordable price. I braced myself to be disappointed and for them to fall apart before I got any decent use out of them, but I was WRONG! Yay! ๐ My brushes are holding up well and are doing a great job. You might have difficulty if you are used to working with squirrel or some other fancy brushes, but I have been quite pleased for my moderate use. I use them mostly for applying washes, or any time I need to apply a lot of water quickly. They also work well as a thirsty brush to pick up large sections of color. Based on my experience with these brushes I would definitely be willing to try other brushes in the brand.

Quality brushes for the price.
I really like these brushes. They are decent quality, and hold a lot of water. It has been years since I have painted with watercolours, so I would say this is a great brush to start back up again.
