Q: I have watched videos about watering the moss pole by inverting a water bottle at the top. How does this work thru the center plastic pole?

The moss poles I saw when I looked up bottle watering were moss stuffed in wire cage. An indentation was made and…. This pole being coir is dense and the center pvc is not described as having “vent” holes. The water would be left standing and or rot the wooden dowel that sticks into soil. Personally I use a spray bottle and mist mine every few days. My very young monstera is in the pot and almost reaches the top of one pole. For the poles height already, I can’t imagine a bottle balanced on top, and when I double it, it will be impossible. Only suggestion is to somehow put your own holes through coir and pvc, and using a small 8oz spring water bottle if you have this tall set. Hope ALL this sheds some light. Watch for bugs or infestations too, due to moisture.

Plain plastic wrap, so don’t know

Q: Will the wood pole rot in soil?

Mine has been in soil for about 6 months and while it looks like it’s stained from the wet soil, I don’t think it’s rotting yet. But yes eventually it will probably rot because it is untreated wood.
