Wonderfully written book! Amazed to see writer’s understanding about psychic issues, very well researched. When I first started reading it, I bursted into tears as I could relate it to someone… took a break of few days to gather the courage n read the whole book in one go… How a simple dream of living a happy married life, which almost every Indian girl sees at some point, ended up ruining so many lives in this story… writer has given good insights on how common behaviour no longer be commonly found.. how someone with psychic issues keeps destroying lives for some fun… Recommend, every woman who is in a relationship must read this.. there is surely something to learn or something to watch out for…

I picked up this book after I read an excerpt in a magazine. It was so interesting that I immediately ordered it on Kindle and devoured it overnight. It's a story that leaves you shocked. The author has kept the reader hooked throughout but has maintained the sensitivity all through and given the villain in her life the benefit of doubt again and again. There are many points where I felt that why didn't she walk out or why didn't she ask more questions but then I tried to step into her shoes, understand her struggles and realise that sometimes some things are easier said than done.The author has painted the picture of her husband so well. Narcs, mental abusers, gaslighters are truly the sweet talking kinds who pursue you with an unbelievable sincerity but once you fall for their charms you realise too late what you have got yourself into. It's a well-written story but if in the end the man who gave her so much grief had been punished in some way I would have got closure as a reader. Or there had been some pointer on how his life panned out in the end that would have also been some respite.

Sad, yet insightful story. Easy comfortable English, direct and impactful. Upon completing the book, a dull pain in the gut lingeres.And it must be after ages that I read a book written in continuous present, an interesting impact it has.One travels, as it were along with Gitanjali, over the decades, sharing her hopes, despairs, discoveries, insights, picking up the pieces and rebuilding life.This is the Author's first book. A very good reading indeed. Do sincerely hope many more will follow.

A compelling story, it must be difficult to share details of how one has been "beguiled".Ruchika's honesty and writing skills make this a very readable book and a cautionary tale for people to be aware of what kind of pitfalls are possible in the closest of relationships.

I was taken on a roller coaster ride by the author, you can feel the emotions of the protagonist and that is hallmark of good writing. Truth indeed is stranger than fiction. Would recommend it.

You can't put the book down because it continues very excitingly at the end of each page. The story of the woman is incredible. The author writes the book from her heart to make other women aware of their own fates and that they are mindful. It should also be published in German!
