I knew I wanted to read this as soon as I saw it was a book on Grace - one of my favorite things to be reminded of. & especially when I saw who wrote it - one of my favorite Pastors.This book did not disappoint, in the least.Kyle Idleman has such a way of putting Biblical principals into relatable terms. You'll laugh at some of the personal stories (especially if you read the footnotes!!) & then you feel like you've been gut-punched with the truth that the Bible has that you tend to put aside. He's just so good at making God's words & promise easy to understand. Opens your eyes to noticing it more in your own life.This book is broken up in how Grace works in a life - For you, for you to give to others (did I mention that gut-punch thing?) & how Grace is in all your circumstances.As someone who goes to Kyle's church, I will say, I have heard many of the things he mentioned in this book in sermons. That's not a negative to me - it just reminded me of the great messages I've heard before & now glad to have some of the points written on paper to refer to more often & not have to rely on my ever forgetting memory. & I'm even more glad that the amazing messages that I get to hear every week is getting shared a bit with the rest of the world.I honestly can't recommend this book enough if you struggle with wondering if God has enough mercy & grace for you in your mistakes you've made... or if you are having trouble forgiving others. You will close this book with an encouraged heart.

These are the three sections on Kyle Idleman's newest book.The last few years I have really been drawn to delving into God's amazing grace, trying to wrap my mind around this blessing that is beyond words. I love Kyle Idleman's books, his biblical grounding and winsom, conversational style of writing. He writes with humor and memorable stories. He shares truths from God's Word. I knew I wanted to read his book about God's grace.This book has been an amazing blessing to read and digest. He lays the groundwork facts such as, until I know how sinful I am and how big my need truly is, I cannot fully comprehend and appreciate God's grace. He ends with the fact that, life is hard and we experience a lot of heartache that can knock the breath out of us and can leave us confused and not understanding how God is at work in these circumstances, but the fact is that God is good and He is in control. His grace is greater than us, our past, and whatever we are facing. One day, as we stand with Him in eternity, we will see clearly. For now we cling to Him and He carries us. Kyle shares biblically sound truths throughout this book in a way that is down to earth, conversational, and with Scripture connections and great stories/experiences that etch them in your memory.I wholeheartedly recommend this book and want to use it as a read aloud for our family.

I love a lot of his books, and this one I bought during a time were I had just lost my grandpa, and 3 days later found out the guy I had been dating for 3 years was cheating on me, all while dealing with covid changes at my workplace as a nurse. A lot of friends and coworkers made comments to me on how well I was taking things and keeping a positive attitude, and I honestly think this book was a huge factor. I actually chose to read this one first (I had bought “don’t give up” by him too) thinking I’ll focus first on how amazing Gods grace is to keep me positive then I’ll read the other book (that I felt I needed to read more). But there was so much more to Gods grace than I knew and some parts were difficult to do, like praying for my enemy (cheating ex). But Every day I prayed for his forgiveness and asking the Lord to help me forgive him, I wasn’t angry or upset with him. I was just happy to know the truth and be free from it. It really is a good read, and brings so much peace in your life, when you start dealing with your hurts and giving grace to others as God does for us.

At some point in our life we are going to suffer heartbreak from the hands of those we love the most. Will we be able to offer forgiveness and extend grace to that person or will we allow bitterness and hurt to grow inside of us because of the pain we have experienced?This book reveals grace in a way I've never thought about before and has helped me to realize that His grace IS greater than the bitterness and hurt I have been carrying around. "God's grace is compelling when explained but irresistible when experienced".Thank you Kyle Idleman for another great book!
