Hapilife [Pop-up Basin Waste] Modern Chrome Brass Slotted Bathroom Sink Sprung Plug Click Clack White

This is a really lovely looking white pop-up plug. I much prefer the white ones to the chrome ones…..especially living in Dorset which has very high limescale in the water here so no chrome stays lovely and shinny for long here. When they’re white they look clean and immaculate all the time. This was fitted by our plumber who was fitting and tiling our cloakroom. He said it was super easy and quick to fit and was of a very good quality. The pop-up function works well and the water in the sink doesn’t escape….so for me its a perfect plug. Arrived the next day on Prime too.

Does the job and looks great

The basin in use is quite old and the previous installer had used a lot of silicone to seat the old waste. I found that the supplied washers with the kit could not seal properly - probably due to the silicon mess which could not be properly removed. So I bought a Thomas Dudley Ltd Basin Waste Seal Kit 3 Piece Set from Screwfix @ £2.39 (Amazom @ £4.45) and the huge rubber cone and foam washer has done the trick. With water in the basin there is a very slow leak through the plug hole - a tissue up inside the tail becomes wet after an hour or so - but this is not a problem as any small amount of water leak will simply go down the waste.Good points - looks nice- price is good - it works.Not so good points- the ceramic cover seems a bit wobbly when screwed on - not a big problem as long as the click in/ click out worksThe supplied silicone washers cant cope with less than perfect mating surfaces.I have not yet fitted the piping to the waste but expect a good rubber grommet and ptfe tape will prevent any leaking from the connection.Note for ptfe tape - it wraps on the thread the same way you tighten the nut.

I wanted something a little different and this is it for me.Looks good

The ceramic top became adrift after less than 2 months of use. Sink now doesn't hold water for very long and drains through the centre of the plug.
