As a parent of a 2.5 year old who still likes to occasionally put toys in his mouth, I did some research into finding just the right paint for my son to use. I wanted something that was as eco-friendly as possible without having to pay a fortune, and most of all - give me peace of mind that his body wasn't absorbing all the harsh chemicals and toxins in paint. I came across this, and was so excited to try it out!I followed the suggestion of mixing 1 part water:1 part paint. The paint is definitely more liquidy than regular paint, but the color is very concentrated. For our project, I wanted the consistency to resemble watercolor. So I did 3 part water:1 part paint. It made the paint more watery, but the color was still beautiful and light - exactly what I wanted. I had my son paint fall leaves on watercolor paper (similar to sketch pad paper).Then I decided I needed a thicker consistency for our fall leaves painting on canvas. So I went ahead and added more paint (close to 2 part water:1 part paint). I love that I did not have to make a whole new batch of paint, but just add more paint to the existing batch I had already made! The paint was just as perfect on canvas as it was on paper!Overall, I am extremely happy I decided to go with this paint. It definitely eased my mind knowing that my son wasn't touching all the harsh chemicals in regular kids' paint. As an added bonus, there was NO smell and the instructions on the box says the paint will last for several weeks if covered (my box came with 6 clear, plant-based, containers for the mixed paint with lids).

I was concerned after some of the reviews said the colors were dull, but those people must have mixed them way too watery. I mixed with 1:1 powder to water and they turned out WONDERFUL. The colors are bright, they were easy to work with and I hardly used any paint. I mixed 2 tbs of the powder with 2 tbs of water and barely used any for this project. Super excited to do more!

Hello! I’m an artist and grandmother of a two and a half year old. Loved these paints. My grandson got to help kid his own paint and it went on the paper very nicely. I would caution you to not add a lot of water at first because the paint goes a long way. I had to throw out much more than we used in the first batch we made up because I put in too much water. But after the paint dries, it looked really great! Definitely something you and your little one can be proud of!The one thing I would say to the company is that if we’re at all possible to put the paint in a better container for dispensing, that would be appreciated. Or at least put it in resealable bags. We had a spill of the powder on our workspace and I ended up just adding a dab of water there and my grandson painted from that! Then when I was cleaning up, I thought I had secured the bag with a paper lip but it spilled out as I was putting it into a plastic baggie. This time it spilled all over my legs! So, I love the paint, but the dispensing could use some work…:) I told my grandson this was “earth paint” which he translated into into “dirt paint”!

I’ve been using these paints with my 5 year old and now two year old for about four years. Love them. There’s the extra step of mixing them but I feel better knowing they’re natural ingredients. Even though other brands say non toxic they’re not transparent about their ingredients. Easy cleanup.

It’s kind of hard to get the ratios correct. It’s too runny or the color isn’t dark enough. I appreciate the quality ingredients but probably will not buy again for craft paint.

Love this product. Did a lot of research before finding this paint for my toddler son. Purchased a couple other paint kits and found the colors to be dull, grainy, or fade when dry. This product does none of that. Awesome colors when both dry and wet, washes off easily, and paints on nicely. Highly recommend!

Paint is very watery. Colors are blah! It’s ok if your little one is allergic and wants to paint. Would probably not be acceptable for older child who knows what real paint is like. Toddler loves them tho

I love these paints. Its a bit of work to mix each time but its worth it. The colors are so beautiful. My daughter loves it. My only annoyance is the packaging. The cardboard box it comes in is so cumbersome to open and close each time. By now ours is in tatters. The paints too, they come in these tiny ziplocs that are so hard to close and if closed so hard to open again. Please make better packaging please please. Everytime we use it I'm struggling with the box and the paints.
