Perfect for large ponds

The skimmer arrived in great condition. It is very sturdy a bit on the heavy side. The lid has a rock like appearance, which will look great when we place it around the pond. Overall, we are very satisfied with this purchase.

For years my pond pump was on the bottom of the pond. I struggled with clarity because it was sucking all of gunk off the bottom and just mixing it up. Within one day of installation (by me) the water was CRYSTAL clear. I should have put this skimmer in years ago. I’ve never been happier with my pond and the ease of maintaining. Cleaning my bio falls used to be a nightmare. Now it’s once a month and I clean the skimmer basket weekly because I have a tree over the pond. Compared to the literal thousands I spent in band aids for water clarity this is WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

This skimmer is so nice, easy to install, and easy to clean out! I installed this skimmer when I replaced my pond liner after 25 years. I liked it so much, I ordered a second one for my other pond which is 16 years old. I had to retrofit it a bit to the old liner (the old skimmer was wider), but it worked out great! Highly recommend. I wish is was a little less expensive.

My experience with the Aquascape Signature Series 400 Pond Skimmer has been nothing short of an epic fail. From the very start, it was clear that this product and then the Aquascape Company failed to live up to its promises and left me deeply disappointed. Upon delivery, the unit was missing several crucial components which I didn't notice until I was ready to install it on my day off. It was missing the filter mat, brass screws, 2" bulkhead fittings, and the plug. I had also purchased the pump and check valve assembly Amazon recommends with the skimmer. So, given the limited time I had to work on my project, I decided to proceed with the installation despite the missing parts WRONGFULLY assuming this was a reputable company, and they'd make it right. It was frustrating to know that I was compromising the skimmer's performance and efficiency due to the manufacturer's oversight. Contacting customer support was an exercise in frustration. It took days to get a response, and when I finally did, they had the audacity to suggest I should return the product even after it was already installed. Their lack of understanding and concern for my inconvenience was appalling. As if that wasn't enough, when I inquired about the missing parts' shipping time, they claimed it would take too long, which was clearly untrue. I took matters into my own hands and ordered the fittings and filter from Amazon, and they arrived the next day. It's disheartening that their own customer service was not only unhelpful but also dishonest. To make matters worse, the skimmer's filtration capabilities are lackluster at best. It failed to remove debris effectively from my pond. The debris basket proved to be insufficient, requiring constant maintenance and dealing with annoying clogging issues. I question the skimmer's durability as well. Despite claims of "UV protected, high-density polyethylene construction it seems about the same as a tote from Home Depot. Overall, my experience with the Aquascape Signature Series 400 Pond Skimmer was a complete disaster. From installation difficulties and missing components to poor customer support and subpar performance, this product fell short in every aspect. As a customer who invested in several products from this company, their neglect and incompetence have left me with no choice but to avoid any further purchases with the Aquascape name. I strongly advise others to do the same and seek reliable alternatives from companies that prioritize customer satisfaction and product performance. Don't waste your time and money on this disappointing product and unreliable brand.

It's a great skilmmer. But for this price, you'd think they would include a 2" barbed hose fitting, particularly since the matching BioFalls unit includes a 2" hose fitting, and that ponds systems are pretty commonly built using PVC hose, not pipe. You would be wrong. Only a pipe fitting. And while you can find barbed hose fittings in practically any hardware store, you apparently cannot find a 2" barbed hose fitting anywhere in Delaware. So this caused a totally preventable 2-day delay while I wait for the proper fitting to be shipped. At this price, Aquascape could at least be consistent, product kit to product kit.

overpriced but a great product

I ordered this to replace an older Aquascape skimmer box, which had 2 side openings for the pump connection and a back opening for the overflow connection. The photo on the company website plus the product manual both show a back opening but that was not the case when our contractor went to install it! He had to reroute the existing plumbing and it was a mess and more costly for the installation! And I also paid for the "overflow" connection kit ($50) which was not suitable for the side hole the installer had to use.

I have a small back yard pond that is about 4' x 8' and have lots of vegetation and trees that deposit their debris into the pond and would float around and I would always have to scoop it up, this solves that problem!!! Now the skimmer picks all of that up and keeps my pond clean! It was very easy to install, and came with everything that you need to install it, except for some hand tools. You will need a shovel, utility knife, and a large screwdriver. I had it installed within a couple of hours.

Works well, so far so good.

Just received. Shows pump in the description, does not mention it doesn’t have one. Pretty expensive for a plastic bucket. Now have to figure out which pump fits it
